A friend of mine is getting married next year and has asked that my daughter be one of her flower girls. There will be my daughter, who will fit a size 18m by then, and another little girl who is a size 4-5. She is looking for them to have the same dress, or -almost- the same dress.

Found a beauty one on the jcpenny site, but no larger size

Wondering if any of you wonderful shoppers have any tips or sites? Ebay isn't really working for her, since it is hard to get the same dress in two different sizes.

Since this involves my kid, I want to make sure my friend gets a great deal!

Thanks for anyone who can help. Budget I'd like to set for her is under $75 for both dresses and including shipping. The ones on jcpenny were $24.99 (a-mazing!)

(She is looking for basically a mini-wedding dress, or tutu-style. Very whimsical/princess-y. White, but can have black or pink accents.)

Funny you posted this as I'm in the same situation here. I ended up buying 3 flower girl dresses at JC Penny a few weeks ago at $29.99 each and they are beautiful. My daughter wears a perfect 3T but I ended up buying her a 4T so she could match the other 2 girls. It's very difficult to find dresses all the same when you need one for a toddler and the same for bigger girls. I have been all over looking for dresses so I know how hard it is. Your best bet would be either having them made or try a bridal shop I think.

Yes, JCPenney always has great prices for flower girl dresses! It's going to be very hard to match a toddler with a girl's size, without paying a swack of big money from one of the specialty sites from the US.
Wow, so many sites have SUCH expensive dresses for little ones, just crazy! I did some googling....

Canadian site - some are around $30, but come in full range of sizes

David's Bridal in the states has unbelievably cheap stuff on their sale rack which varies from location to location.
I have yet to get a passport so I wasn't able to go to shop there for my wedding last month, however, I paid $10.00 each for two flower girl dresses. It was a little hole in the wall store in a small mall that brought in everything for china. Since then I have seen several little stores like that where you can get incredibly cheap dresses and suits for kids. Try looking around your local malls or in ethnic areas. Although I will admit the dresses were quite poor quality (they probably would fall apart after a washing) they were only being worn once and did the job perfectly! Good luck (have you tried CL?)

Check winners, they have formal wear for kids at a really good price. Not guaranteed you'll have two of the same dresses in different sizes, but you could always find dresses that match instead of the same one for each. Good luck

since you don't need the dresses till next year is waiting a bit an option.. with christmas coming up you can often find very very cute fluffy christmas dresses which might work perfectly.. or (it might be pushing it time wise) easter dresses are always adorable.. costco dresses often go from a 12 months up to a 3/4yr in the same style (they get in both christmas and easter dresses)

the other option is to make them.. you can find a pattern in a book and since they will be rather small dresses fabric won't' cost too much (depending on what you use ofcourse)

could you do two-peice dresses?? say a tutu (super easy to make! new sewing involved! or you can purchase two matching ones in diff sizes) and a simple top to match them (dress shirt or something like)
When life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....

Thanks for the suggestions everyone - I forgot I made this thread

I will pass the info along. She still has some time before her wedding, it is next Spring. So the easter dresses idea is a great one!

costco is where I got the same dresses for a 10 and a 4 year old exactly the same. I got them in November last year.
Around Christmas Zellers is also a good place to try.
