LOL...if I ever get another one, it will definitely be from a shelter; I am very anti-breeder (and definitely very anti-mill!). But I made a decision about five years ago that when they were both gone, I was going to be without pets for at least several years.
Being able to just lock the door and leave, as opposed to having to find a cat sitter, is a big plus in my current work/personal situation. I was always stressed out about how they were doing when I was away.
But I appreciate the sentiment...my pets were both huge comforts to me and a reliable source of giggles, while I had them (also the only source of cat puke and almost-but-not-quite-in-the-litter-box poop, which was not one of their more awesome features...but you forgive them for that kind of stuff). Eventually, I'm sure I'll wind up with more pets.

Ah..the mom thing...I know...I feel for you...I screamed at my mom last week too
But remember, she only meant good...Moms want the best for us and sometimes they just don't know we grew up already....and we can make a decision ourselves...

Not making excuses for her behaviour, but she's probably just not good at dealing with you - & more importantly Ethan - being so far away.
If it makes you feel any better, my Mom kept saying I didn't love her anymore & would burst into tears for weeks after I bought my condo - & we're both in Toronto!
You forgot about the never-ending supply of fur in *everything*. Not sure whether you had the endless confetti of chewed up cardboard from boxes. Oh & having to crawl on the ground searching for places where pens can be hidden.
Let me know when ya wanna borrow mine.

Wow, Woofy, I missed the Mom update - holy crap. I don't care what was going on, her pushing you while you're holding Ethan is NOT COOL.
Probably best that I didn't know about this at the time. I understand there are really strict laws in Singapore, and my intervening would probably have landed me in jail.

Screamy... have you been to Tim's? Pumpkin Spice is back!!!!!! I was so worried last week when it was apple... but I celebrated with a muffin and tea this morning. And according to their nutrition calculator, it isn't the highest calorie or fat muffin they have. (Not that that says much!)

Thanks, guys, for your words of support...
I was asked to apologize to my mom, but still can't find it in me yet... Guess I'm still miffed with my mom...
Anyhow, when is the next coupon meet? I was checking the forums, and haven't seen any October ones? Whaddup? Whaddup?

My mom is insane too, and I say that in the nicest of ways.

She's very old school and figures if her ways didn't kill us then she must've been right all along.
I love my mom, but if we ever have kids, I'm going to be stressed out if I ever have to leave my kids with her.

Apologize when you're ready, and in doing so, also let her know what drove you to react the way you did, so that she knows next time not to push you so that point.
*hugs* - parents, can't live with them, can't live without them.

Oh Sreamy,a big huge hug for you. When I was younger (wayyyy younger), someone once said to me, "The one you love never leaves if you keep them in your heart" and that is what I have held dear throughout. But a big hug, anyway!
Give it time. Even with my mom (whom I get along very very well), we had our 'flare ups', the most recent one last Wed when I was rushing to take my daughter to Sick Kids emergency (she was hospitalized for pneumonia). Spoke to her the wrong way (disrespectfully, so she said) and she got angry. We both sulked for a few days (I was too distraught dealing with 1 kid in hospital, 2 other at home anyway) and now all's good.
But good to have you back and I can't wait to see how much Ethan has grown.

I am so stressed out I could literally scream.
Trying to coordinate renting a car when you don't have a full G license is a nightmare, and I am living in it right now. My sister's wedding is in two days, I'm responsible for getting five people to it, and all the carefully orchestrated and triply-confirmed plans I had in place are falling apart.
If anyone happens to want to "loan" me their mini-van until Monday night, I would not only be eternally grateful, I would make it worthwhile! LOL.
I'm going to go cry now....

No minivan here. But why are YOU trying to rent it in your name??
Why not in P's name? Isn't he driving it?Add me on twitter and I'll add you back! Just mention you are from SC!

I don't think you can rent a car without a full G license (I had to use my international driver's license when I first arrived here). Is your sis' wedding out of town? Would a limo be too costly?
