I find nail polish helps me - but only for a day or two - once it starts chipping I start biting again. So hard to stop.

I love the colour. I have always wanted to wear blue polish, but these old hands just can't. I got a pedicure for the first time ever last year on my b-day from my girl. Yep, gel nails and all. Oh, they looked fabulous, but I couldn't pick up a thingThey want me to go again this year just before Christmas and even have made me an appointment. Althoug I have always had fairly nice nails, this past month my hands have taken a beating and no I'm renovation my bathroom (by myself, a mini makeover). They say I can get the nail shorter so maybe I will take them up on the offer, we will have to see. And maybe some pretty blue nail polish!
We all need a little sunshine every now and then

I have the opposite problem. My nails grow so quickly...I usually keep them at a medium length, about 1/4" over the tip, but before I know it, they're so much longer! I also wouldn't leave home without polish...no glitzy, pearly ones..just a nice rich colour, usually in a rose shade.
I had always bitten my nails as a young person...then our DD told me to purchase this 'witch" stuff at a beauty supply store (no, it's not the one you can get in any retail store) and omg, my nails got so strong and grew so quickly I just couldn't NOT let them keep growing!
If I remember that name, or if our DD remembers it, I'll post it here, okay?
Bub...good luck...they're really not that short...and ita with Holly...I put blue on once and it looked like I smashed my hand in a car door! I think I'll stick to more classic colours...Lol!!

i think it's just witchcraft ... i've used that before ...
but while i find it's AMAZING i also find it PEELS OFF and it's soooo much fun to peel off the entire nail at once lol lol ... so i spend more time doing that than letting it work

I don't keep mine much longer than that anyway, so WTG!
The ring is VERY pretty!
I find if I change polish, then file, etc. twice a week, it works well - because you're not waiting for the chipping, etc.
Mind you, I have a skin problem which also affects my nails, so it's a bit of a different situation...
I have blue on now, too, but a darker greyish blue - kinda like Lynn said - like bruising! When my husband sees me wearing a colour like that, I get a sneer and the comment - yah, really natural looking....
Now c'mon, this is the dude who met me in the '80s with my electric blue mascara and frosted hair, lol!
