Now you require a password to login.

Fair enough, I tried it and it is TRUE!

    Finally!
Nope... you can still sign in with your postal code... I just tried it.

I think that the people who have a password are the ones who called in I think (Correct me if I'm wrong) that it's SDM that only puts them on select accounts

Yes, it IS hard! Especially when people talk crap just to START crap. It's better to take the high road in the long run

No, There is a password space on the account, I have had a password for years but you can still log in with EITHER password (which they recommend is your mothers maiden name lol) postal code or something else

I doubt the FB admin could say anything other than that. The FB admin doesn't have access to the accounts, nor is it her job to investigate points loss. Her job, in part, is to direct people to the appropriate division for resolution (one way or the other).

I actually feel bad for her. She is likely a techie contracted in a social media role, hired to simply promote the SDM brand and its promotions and direct people to the appropriate parties. I understand people wanting to get answers and the assumption that the squeaky wheel (more often than not) gets the oil, but she's likely pulling her hair out and has now been directed to funnel all questions re: missing points to HO.

ETA: In other words I would expect no answers to the missing points questions from SDM on FB.

I see it.... that's just stupid. They should get rid of the postal code option, and just have a password.

I have a password space on my account too. Whenever I logged in, I always put my password AND either postal code of DOB. I thought it will only work that way. I have no clue what people are talking about here when they say they can log on to their account without entering the password until last night, it worked for me, no password required I was shocked, SDM should really do something with this security flaw, quite scary.

I have received no details from SDM. Just that they would get back to me. When I contacted SDM yesterday I was made to feel it was my fault for trading. I shouldn't have said that.... But nothing was ssaid one way or the other.

Jezzebelle I think had the most details. I am not sure if she has any more new info.

But Rose this is just crazy! If anyone should have their account locked and points removed, it would be me before you! I must have had 10 deposits to my account, not all large, but still atleast 10 over the last 2 1/2 weeks leading up to redemption. So if they are playing that game, and revoking points for "trading", then why pick on you, or other's who have had very few transfers? And why not pick on me who was receiving the points?

It does make me wonder if this is a fallback excuse for an error on their part. Especially since they promoted the transferring of points to friends and family via email, and facebook. If they wanted to patrol who you could transfer points to, don't you think they would make it a little tougher, than just offering it online? You would think they would require more info on the recipient, rather than just their SDM #. Or, make it mandatory to have to call for transfers.. the more hoops you have to jump, the less likely the general population will follow thru.

If points or accounts are locked or f-l-a-g-g-e-d due to excessive transfers, one would think it's an automated system that picks up on this. It just makes no sense to me that you and the others with few or no recent activity would get dinged.

I am praying that you receive a reply soon, hopefully today, with more concrete answers on what happened to your account, and with a positive solution.

SDM needs to give us answers to who did this!! & where they spent the points (must be on camera in store committing the crime!!)
I'm trying to get caught up here... lots to read! I noticed that everyone who was wiped out is in Western Canada. If that matters... Since I've read about this, I've been scared to check my Optimum Points balance. But I just checked, and it's fine. What a HORRIBLE time for all this to happen.

I feel terrible for you all! My heart just breaks for you....

Unfortunately we have not found one common denominator.

    Not all have traded
Not all have done tell a friend events
    Not all have done surveys

Don't want to start speculating again, and I know this has been stated many times, but I think it just points more and more to it being on SDM's side of things. Sally, did you have a high amount of points in your acct?
