ya questioning some of the comments. there is still no definite answer as to whether this was related to people giving out their info or if this was a breech in security at SDM. they are putting the horse in front of the cart. unfortunately from shoppers actions so far it seems if you have any trading history they are denying you a return in points. just blaming the person.

I just think it's disgusting that such a big company has such a weak security system because most people trust their loyalty cards are safe. I don't collect that many optimum points because I find the prices at Shoppers suck. And I hate when people blame the victim for being robbed. People make mistakes. It doesn't mean they should get robbed. I just hope you never accidentally leave your car door unlocked or your purse behind, etc.

I am so sorry to hear that this is the way SDM chose to handle the situation when it's partly their fault (lack of security to protect customers hard earned points). I will not be collecting Optimum points if they continue the way it is now. When you redeem something say from HBC they check your picture ID, their password was set by you. I can't understand why SDM so f@#$$%# arrogant, why can't they fix this? All it takes is a few minutes on their end to eliminate the dummy sign in like PC and DOB. The whole process of signing up for a new Op card, login, transfer, and redeem points are begging for trouble.
I hope some of you will contact the police about this and force SDM to provide info for a proper investigation and arrest the scumbag who did this to you guys.Last edited by Decaf; Wed, Dec 7th, 2011 at 05:58 PM.

My blood pressure wouldn't half as high IF Shopper's were showing they were handling all of this in good faith.....they're not. A multi-billion dollar company playing *** with normal Joe Blow's life....or Mary Ellen's

they really are washing their hands of it. at the end of the day a crime was committed with one of their products. whether you traded or not. they may not give people back their points but they do need to investigate where the points went and how it happened. they need to hand over their investigation to the police. if they don't then what's to stop anyone from doing it again. this whole thing has left me in such a bad frame of mind that i really don't want to shop there anymore.
