That is the last days where man shows that he can not govern himself without God and he then steps in. (I think we are doing a pretty good job at destroying oursevles). It says man will dominate man to his injury. Thats pretty accurate I would think. So the last days there would be a warning work just like Noahs day to get our life in order in a way that is acceptable to him, not us. It also says very few listened in Noahs day and very few will listen now.
Here, here!. Succinctly and very well said. . . Not really the Mayan calendar. . .more like the Biblical calendar. No dates given. . just signs.

Wow, great article! Isn't it fascinating how "much" certain ancient cultures were advanced?

Lol. But if God was going to step in because we can't govern ourselves, I'd think the early 1940s would have been the time to do it - when the nations of Earth tore each other apart and 10s of millions were killed. As bad as things may be now, they simply don't compare to the pure horror of WWII.

I'd like to add that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs. My wife is a person of faith, while I am not. We accept and love each other as we are.

I personally believe the Bible as well. That being said, I also believe in Science, to a point. Thing is, back when the Mayans were around, there was no such thing as "leap year".
Ceasar introduced leap years in 45BC, there have been 515 leap years including this year(so I've heard). Without those extra days, the date would be the 2nd of September, 2013. So we have an extra year! (if you believe it that is!)

Actually, shouldnt that be closer (if we've added 515 to previous calendars, we should be closer to the Mayan Date, not further from it). So when you remove 515 days from the Mayan date we have now with our current calendar, the date would have fallen on July 23, 2011.

Yes, and any Christian preacher who claims to know the date of the end of the world is disagreeing with Jesus Himself.

    Matthew 24:35-36
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

So true, Dave....if only the people who follow self-proclaimed preachers would read the Bible, they'd realize the truth, too! That is...if one believes everything in the Bible....I have no problem with any religion or anyone's beliefs as long as it doesn't call for harming anyone else...as for the world ending....I don't think that's anything we have to worry about...
