That is why I am so glad BF is Serbian too bc I want our kid sto speak it as well...plus Toronto and area have so many Serbs and churches and schools and dancing programs it will be easy for them to keep it. That is one good thing about living in a big city

I knew for sure I wanted to marry a Ukrainian - not that I didn't date others, but in my heart, I knew I would.

I had great expectations that my husband would help out teaching our son Ukrainian, since he's fluent, plus knows so many languages - but you know it really just didn't happen - we live in such an English world. Even though Milan went to a Ukrainian Bilingual school, and we attend Ukrainian church, did dancing, singing, all the heritage things...
Plus, he also had to get to know the Ruthenian/Rusyn side of him -- and his cousins are all fluent in that, since it was their first language, and he only knows a few expressions.

My dad was one of 11 kids, but i still cant imagine having that many kids, especially since so many people seem to feel the need to have a tv show to feed them these days

Oh, I know FP - my mom was one of 9, my dad was an only.
But my husband is one of 11! Kids ranged from being born from 1945 to 1966.

I wanted at least six - so did my husband, but things don't always work out...
