I remember they accidentally switched ours off one year, called them and they were 'no your bill is paid in full, the tech must have switched off the wrong meter' this was on Boxing Day (so obviously they were working on Boxing Day) but they told me that it would be a week before they could turn it back on. No, they can't. From Oct 1st to Apr 1st it's illegal for them to leave you without electricity. That's been in effect for over 5 years. Aftr they cut some old lady's electricity and she died they've been prevented BY LAW to do so during the cold months.
