Wow, how sad. She was such a wonderfully talented singer. I grew up listening to her albums and remember thinking how fabulous she was. Sadly I don't think that is what she felt about herself. RIP girl

She started out in the church, a talent like no other, and then after all the wonderful success, she meets Bobby Brown, good girl falls for bad boy, not a new story, but now a sad ending.I know I will miss hearing her voice, R.I.P. sweet Whitney.

there is a daughter...and she has lots of trouble herself...addiction....suicide attempt....sad situation for sure

Although Bobby Brown probably didn't help the situation,Whitneys drug use started when she was a teen. I don't believe she was a naive woman led to the slaughter,but rather she was raised in an environment where drug and alcohol use was rampant,not at home,but in the entertainment field in general.Difficult to escape it.

She would not acknowledge her sexuality(at the behest of her record label and handlers)and living not as your true self often leads to self medication.

I listened to a few of her recordings this morning and got goosebumps.What an amazing natural talent. Gone too soon.

Very sad news for all loved ones involved. I too was trying to explain to my daughter this morning how Whitney to my generation, was like Katy Perry to her, (it was the only way I could get her to understand). RIP Whitney, you made alot of memories for strangers, and touched alot of people's lives, you will be missed.
