Hi Everyone!

Just wondering if anyone knows where I should go to if I want to adopt a Kitten. The only place I could think of was the SPCA but they are not adopting out cats right now because of ringworm. I can't for the life of me find a place to go, and I really didn't want to go to a pet store when there are so many kittens in need.

Could you ask the SPCA where they would recommend?

The other SPCA shelters on the island are pretty far away, but the SPCA could tell you which other local shelters are reputable. I think it's great that you're adopting rather than buying from a store or Craigslist.

Here are several. You can also contact your local animal control as well as local vets where litters of kittens are often abandoned. Thank you for considering giving a home to a homeless pet instead of encouraging backyard breeders and/or irresponsible pet owners.

Pets West is Broadmead village sells kitten that are rescue only. That's where i got mine and she is wonderful. They also come spayed or neutered and fully vaccinated.

We got our two boys from Dees Cat Orphan Fund. They were kittens that we fostered over a weekend and I fell for them. I don't think they list their cats on the website cause ours weren't ... They were headed to Bosley's the following week for adoption there. I can say that PetSmart in Langford always has cats from adoption agencies in their store. Not sureif they are kittens though. Oh I noticed the post about Pets West ... Completely agree, they have had kittens everytime i've stopped in and they seem well loved by the staff.

im one of the funding coordinators for the cowichan cat rescue, our kittens are fostered until healthy and social. then adopted out through duncan pets. you should check them out.
