Hey Robyn did you hear about the teacher's vote on the offer?
Results of the vote by Ontario college instructors are too close to determine whether the offer has been accepted or rejected. 51% have voted to accept the employer's offer, by a margin of just 210 votes. They are still waiting for over 300 mail-in votes, which could change the outcome.

As someone who lives in Toronto, with no driveway and only street parking, snow tires are a must. Imagine having to try to get out of a parallel parking space every day, while your tires spin on roads that are no longer salted (sanded instead)...and having to get over whatever mound of snow the plows have left behind to boot! Sliding forward or backward, left or right, often means hitting another parked vehicle. Say what you want but my winter tires are absolutely mandatory for urban driving.

"Snow" tires probably aren't needed on TO, but "winters" are a good idea.
A good demonstration:

Altough it is on a snow covered track the principles of traction apply.
I'm all for an incentive to influence positive behaviour. Discounts on insurance for those that use "winter" tires. In the case of an accident between a vehicle that does have "winters" on and one that doesn't, if the non-winter tire car is at fault due to the road conditions and driving beyond the capabilities of the equipment damages should be attributed...not the no-fault default. You're usually going to buy a second set of tires over the life of the car anyway, make it a set of winters and your all-seasons will last twice as long. Net effect zero over the long run. "Pay me now or pay me later." Isn't it about being prepared for what could happen, vs. getting by on the minimum?
OK, that was 3 cents worth.

" You're usually going to buy a second set of tires over the life of the car anyway, make it a set of winters and your all-seasons will last twice as long. Net effect zero over the long run. "
there is only one problem with above statement - generally snows/winters have about half the mileage (lifespan) of regular all season tires.
I agree with the use of snows or winters.

Good morning Qbees I myself do not like the idea of two sets of tires. There is a storage problem for many. Also went it comes to street parkers why do they have to clean off their cars and dump the snow on my freshly shovled sidewalk........?

A few people were complaining they weren't happy when JACK FM changed
formats last summer? I was checking local news 94.9 in Oshawa but I tuned my dial a little off the other day and hit a new station Vinyl 953 out of Hamilton and they have been playing a decent mix. It comes in fine in Whitby and you still get Toronto traffic.
All the trivia stuff on Q107 works on the Vinyl website.

Good morning, everyone.
No sunrise yet, wondering whether I should go back to sleep (can you tell I'm not a morning person?).
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
