Thank goodness, some common sense finally managed to find its way into the Prime Minister's Office. They just announced that the present version of Oh Canada will stand. There may be hope for this country yet!

It still all just comes down to pulling over and getting directions rather than continuing to try and drive while getting instructions and getting into or causing an accident. I haven't gone a single day since the law has been enforced that someone hasn't drifted from their lane, made lane changes, run a red light, made a you turn, traveling 20 kms under the speed limit or just outright cut me off and they were on a cell phone. That includes a postie truck and a tractor trailer.

That's not what I was saying. I agree completely that they should have pulled over and agree they deserved to be fined, I was just pointing out that the way I read Joe's article was as an attack on the Justice system in Ontario. I think that maybe the cops could have helped them get to the funeral on time.
I think you are.

Ah, the Avro Jetliner! That aircraft had great potential, and if they had proceeded with production, it would have been the first choice for airlines when the de Havilland Comet suffered multiple crashes due to fuselage failures. But Avro was so busy trying to crank out the Arrow long range interceptor, they kept delaying the Jetliner project and finally cancelled it altogether. Sadly, the Arow met the same fate soon thereafter thanks to a terrible decision by the Diefenbaker government. Much like the Avro Arrow, had the Jetliner been allowed to proceed to full production, it could have made Canada the world leader in aerospace technology. Instead, numerous engineers left Canada for the USA and took their knowledge with them to NASA, Lockheed, Boeing and Douglas Aircraft.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, SillieLoocie!A truly wise man never plays leapfrog with a unicorn.
