When I worked for Sunrise Records, I was the Ticketmaster guy. I had to explain this a number of times to people who figured that, because they heard there was a presale, ALL of the best tickets were sold through them.
Look at that, you learn something new every day! I'll be more patient next time. Even worse than the selection, my buddy bought his own allotment of tickets in the presale as well, so now we have 2 bunches of tickets to get the rest of our friends to commit to.

TNSNF, did you ever work at Sunrise in the Dixie Mall? Now that you mention you worked for Sunrise, you remind me of a guy that had issue with me there once, years ago. If so, what a coincidence!
    Are there any SUBURBAN legends?

    Wasn't that a great place?
great memories! sam's, records on wheels, A&A's, sunrise, etc!
record shopping used to be so much fun! leafing through the albums, checking out the song lists. it was an adventure.
it was sad to go to sam's just before it closed it's doors... wandering through the empty bins and shelves.

What a day. Just back from a two hour walk, might just head out again after lunch. Spring's not here yet though, no Red-Winged Blackbirds yet.
One by one, the yard gnomes steal my sanity.

Uh oh... lol... yes, Dixie Mall was among the stores I worked at. I was the assistant manager at Woodbine, Dixie Mall and Bramalea. They offered me a store of my own at Sherway, but warned that it would likely only be open for the Christmas season, lol.
What do the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Titanic have in common?

They both look good until they hit the ice.

Dixie Mall is always a good place for a bargain, but that flea market downstairs scares the crap out of me.

In the entire time I worked there, I never went down to the flea market. Used to go with the family when I was a kid, that's about it. All I remember is the place smelled like fish because of the big fishing pond in the middle of it.

    Has anyone eaten here?

    www.onoir.com

My cousin was telling me about this place on the weekend. I may check it out. It's a unique dining experience; The restaurant is completely dark. You're led to your table and seated by your server. Naturally, you can't see the menu, so the server tells you what's available, and you eat in pitch darkness. Sounds like an interesting experience.
