Good morning, everyone!

Lily dog woke me at 5 to go out. I thought it would be a quick trip, especially with the sleet, but then she spied a weird dark shadow in the middle of the street & started crying & grumbling. I thought some poor creature had been hit by a car, so we went to investigate. It was a boot. Who the heck loses a single boot in the middle of a street?

We all went back to bed (the cat too, after he screamed at us for disturbing his dreams) & now we've got a very late start to the day.

I'll post a partial recap later, I'm off to dinner & then to see Young Frankenstein tonight. The real recap will be quite late as a result.

Hope everyone enjoys the day, even if it is dark & dreary.

For those of us over 50 this is a great exercise regimen, for you younguns out there (under 50), just keep it in mind until you reach that magic 50 number!







EXERCISE FOR PEOPLE OVER 50



Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.



With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides.Hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.

Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer.


After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags.

Then try 50-lb potato bags, and then eventually, try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level.)

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag

Just wondering if anyone here has been to Virginia Beach? I'm looking to head down that way in July for a vacation and just wondering if anyone can provide some advice on where to stay and things to do with young kids?
