I just saw the commercial for Jane's Flat Jacks..Pastry filled with chicken you cook in a toaster
and I thought the toaster with bulit in egg poacher was bad...are we getting that lazy?( not we as in us Sc'rs but the public in general)
has anyone tried the Flat Jacks?
just wondering
thanks,

Hey stop it,lol I'm not lazy.
They aren't half bad though, but I don't think they have pastry ones, they're breaded. They only take 2 cycles in the toaster to be fully cooked. I bought them at walmart when they had them for $6.00 and thought they were ok. Since I work nights I like to make things fast and you just reminded me to go buy some more, lol.

People sometimes need quick options for meals. *shrugs* It's not always laziness.
There's already that Krispy Toast chicken stuff so it's not a far stretch from that, lol. I have yet to try either, but at the right price, it'll be fun to try.

I've had the Krispy Toast, but only when it was a good deal. Regular price for that stuff is something like $8! I wouldn't pay that for it, but it's OK for a quick sandwich or something. My DS enjoys them.

It's okay, it is great for a quick meal. I have a bad habit of taking my sweet time getting ready for things so I barely have time to cook something and eating it.
Oh look this is my 777th post. How lucky

If it wasn't breaded, I would be into it.

Ummmm...I don't really care either way about the product...I just find the commercial super disturbing...a square chicken? As it approaches the toaster? I dunno...I'm definitely one of those people that doesn't like to watch "Babe" on a Sunday afternoon and think of the great brunch I just had and all of the farm animals that went into making it. Ignorance is bliss to me!!!

i think they have a market for them (aka college students/teenage boys lol, meals for 1, quick on the go) but.. i'll admit they scare me some.. the whole cooking chicken in a toaster.. just doesn't seem right (but i think they are just precooked chicken strips and all you do is reheat them).. i'm a tad picky on my chicken when it comes to strips/nuggets.. it has to be 100% pure chicken breast.. and i have a feeling these arn't (these are the crazy chicken mush byproduct)

Oddly enough, my kids hated the Jane's toaster chicken thingies, normally we love their products. They loved the Krispy Toast ones from Olymel though. Funny story, we were given a bunch of them as a free promo. This jeep pulled up in our parking lot as we were getting home and the promo-ppl offered us some, then offered more, and more...I think maybe 2 dozen indiv. packaged ones in total.

How sanitary is cooking meat in the toaster...... would that not breed bacteria? Toasters are not cleaned really besides dumping of crumbs........
I seen them and my first thought was me getting food poisoning
