Hi Opus. Just realized that you have a new name from before.LOL.
I just got introduced to chia seeds and bought them when Costco had a sale. I mix with yogurt too.
Actually your BF is making the ice cream healthier. LOL.
Sometimes we mix ice cream with crushed all bran cereal and protein powder. At least we are getting some health benefit from the ice cream. Hehehe.

Haha I ment he is making his healthy snack not so healthy by adding all that ice cream.
I don't eat yogurt just ment it has the texture of a yogurt.
But pairing them with yogurt is a good idea too!
I was originally buying skinny B. Cereal and realized I could just save alot of money buy just buying the seeds from Costco.
And yes its still me just with a different name ;-)

I will have to look into the Chia at Costco. I did buy hemp hearts there recently. I was buying them from a health food store before, they weren't really much more expensive, it was just more difficult to get there. I did order a 3/3 split of Holy Crap and Skinny B from the company direct to try out (not sold here), and as of yet I'm not fond of the buckwheat (maybe I need to let it soften more). I did just buy a small amount of chia separate from bulk barn. I really like hemp hearts as they stay crunchy in yogurt and oatmeal (unlike ground flax). I'm working on figuring out the chia as the Holy Crap site talks about not cooking it or adding it to oatmeal after it cools.
On the clearance end, I've been getting a bunch of things. I recently bought the 24 pack of chocolate/vanilla soymilk singles for $3.97 I think. I use the vanilla to cook oatmeal in, still working out a plan for the chocolate, maybe for smoothies. They also had corn pasta on clearance too which I've never tried.

I bought the corn pasta as well- super cheap. In st John's Costco is the only decent place to get fruit. They have some gluten free items. Around as well which I love!

I bought some take/bake pizzas there today. I'm generally pleased with my purchases there but won't buy these again. The price was good, but you wouldn't believe the grease! I had to buy two of them since they're one of those deals where you have to buy two, we only cooked one, but unfortunately I probably won't get back there anytime soon.

The thing about Costco, and why they can offer such great prices, is that they sell each "brand" a specific amount of footage in their store. These footages are based on how well their product sells. In theory Costco's marketing plan is to have *just* enough of a product to consistently sell out in a given amount of time. If a product is not selling fast enough they aren't likely to "rebook" it. Their product lines are also "seasonal", so they only have certain products around for certain times...In a way it ensures that they have people "keep coming back" because they want to check if their particular wants are back in the store.
that being said it's a great store and they offer great prices, but yeah... my dad works for a company that deals with Costco and that's a brief summary of what he told me about how they make decisions about stock and how they work their ordering...

Forgive me if this link was already posted: here's where you can find up-to-date Costco deals for your province:
http://www.getmoreofwhatyoulove.ca/en_CA/index.php
It provides an e-copy preview of the in-store coupon offers, highlights online sales and contests. In British Columbia, there's an offer where you receive 50 Aeroplan points for signing up for the Costco listserv.
I find this website quite handy. I only like to visit when there's a deal to be had.I recently wrote an article for my blog myfriendtellsme on ways to save on diapers for baby.
For this and other articles on budgeting, saving and maximizing reward points, please visit. My hope is to help others learn tricks of the trade that have really helped me

My favourite new item at Costco is Golden Island Grilled Barbecue Pork Jerky....about $11 or so....for a 400+ gram package. Be warned -- It's very addicting...taste is like an asian barbecue!!! Same as this, but in a bigger package: http://www.goldenislandjerky.com/sto...uct_detail&p=2

Does anyone happen to know the size and price of the easter hunting eggs. I think it was about 9.95? 1kg? bag, but can't remember and I don't want to drive out there if I can get the little eggs cheaper somewhere else. Thanks.
