Thread: Best fundraising ideas?
-

Does anyone have any good ideas for fundraising? So far we have done a few bottle drives, bake sale/pizza sale and a magazine subscription sale.
Has anyone had success in anything else?
We are possible going to get a basket of donated goods together to raffle off.. any suggestions for asking companies for donations?
Thanks!!This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I went to a few coffee-house events in HS, most of them were held in church basements. Sell snackies (baked goods are always welcome) and drinks, live music/performance art. Charge a cover to get in (it will have to offset costs of the even itself and then a bit extra for the fundraising). Raffles can be done at these too!

At our school and also at our church, we have sold "Vista Cards" - Clients have a choice of purchasing all kinds of Gift Cards - from President's Choice to A&W to Canadian Tire - wide variety. The purchaser gets a prepaid card that they can use themselves or as gifts and the seller gets a % of the amount back from the company that offered the card. Ranges from 1% up to about 8%. It's a preorganized system all you do is advertise, take orders, order from the company, and deliver (or have the cards picked up). It's quite lucrative if you have a large clientelle. People spend money on gas, groceries, etc. They just pre-pay for them from you.

Again, it depends on what it is for. 50/50 tickets usually generate good funds.

Let's see.....I love fundraising so have lots of ideas but it depends on what you are raising money for and how big you are doing it.
A guess the jelly beans in the jar,
raffle baskets - if you have a couple different ones you can sell more tickets - a family movie basket, a chocolate basket, a kids basket, a tea basket, coffee basket
Yard sale or penny auction, used book sale.
A themed tea for example, an Easter tea get together.
carnival, playdate
Chocolate bar sales
Craft sale but organize it so that if people want to put in tables they get charged a certain amount to have a table, this money is over and above whatever else you are doing.
Many home business give percentages on the amount of sales towards fundraisers too.
These are just a few but it really depends on what you want to do and how big.
Hope this gives you some more ideas.
Jess
