I started using coupons about 2 years ago, I always knew I had saved quite a bit of money by using it, but was always curious how much it could save me per year, so one of my New Year's resolutions is to start writing down how much I am able to save by using coupons or MIR this year. Since January 1st, I have been able to save somewhere around $30, so I was curious if anyone has been doing it and how much can you usually save per year.

My total on my spreadsheet was $11264.77 for 2010, and this was mostly at LD. I know I haven't added some from when I'd go shopping at other stores and only use a few $$ in coupons. Keep in mind, about 1000$ worth is stuff I sent to "SherriK", and a few thousand is all pet food that I donated (thanks again for all the RAOKs & trades).

over $3000..............in 7 months! (started beginning of May)
over $2500 was LD; most of that was between Sept. & Dec., as I started getting more
stacking combo coupons.
the other $500+ includes 60 free boxes of Special K, dozens of free & almost free Hunt's tomatoes & Campbell's soups, free Stayfree, plus numerous other items I bought with coupons.
In 2011 I'm hoping to double my coupon usage & get more free/almost free food deals. (I'm also contemplating US coupon shopping.)

2011 -I've saved about $46 with coupons - that garnered me 4 free Softlips, 4 free stayfree and 12 Campbells stock & 12 Campbell's soup.
that reminds me - I should go use my free Stouffers (facebook) coupon.

My budget has always been the same...roughly around $200/wk for groceries, gas, others (clothes, entertainment, gifts, etc...) So really, I haven't "saved" anything because I still spend this much. I just have more stuff. Last year I used $1600 in coupons. My goal this year is to use my stockpile and not use coupons for the sake of a good deal and reduce my budget to $175. If I keep this up for an year...I will have an extra $1300 which can go to a vacation! In my opinion that's real savings. Not the amount of coupons used.

Oh! Reading this just reminded me that I wanted to keep track of all my 2011 couponing, but it's already Jan 9th. I hope I can find my receipts.

I have no idea, I stopped tracking it at around $400, but well over $1000
For now I am living off my stockpile, there is little I need to buy except the basics and stuff that is free and meats/fresh produce etc
So Jan:
Reg Cost: 276.92
Sale/Paid Cost: 188.12
Coupons: 72.88
Discounts: 7.73
OOP Cost: 107.51 (incs MIR for $7.99 so just under $100)
eta: receipt added for final shop (and this includes shopping for 'yummy munchies' for my turn to feed the office for our weekly meeting)Last edited by FallenPixels; Mon, Jan 10th, 2011 at 05:23 AM.

I'm unsure. I've gotten probably at least 100 items free and a hundred more at very low cost since october when I started, and that doesn't include freebies that I've gotten that I didn't get in a store.
