Hi! I recently bought a breadmaker at a thrift store. It works, but it didn't come with the instruction manual or recipe booklet so I was just wondering if anyone had any good recipes for breadmakers? The one I purchased is capable of making 1.5lb and 2lb loaves.

    Thanks!

I have a Charlescraft, make 1 lb loaves. These are the two recipes I use the most.
I don't bake in the machine anymore, I don't like the square loaves. I just use the dough cycle, then make loaves in bread pans, or buns.
I only used rapid mode once, it skips a rising stage, so the bread doesn't turn out as well.

Just remember to put ingredients in the bottom of the container in the order listed..

Put water first, then solid ingredients. For salt or sugar, add to the outer edge of mixture.
Add yeast last, and away from salt, sugar, and water. Make a little indent in the top of the flour and put the yeast there.

White Bread - 1 lb. loaf
    ------------
    water - 8 oz
    white flour - 2 cups
    butter or margarine - 1 1/2 Tbsp
    dry milk - 1 Tbsp
    sugar - 1 1/2 Tbsp
    salt - 1 tsp.
    quick rising yeast - 1 3/4 tsp.

Note - I just use water, don't bother with the dry milk. Sometimes if I want a richer bread, I use 1 cup milk.
Also, you can add an egg - put it in the measuring cup first, then add water to measure 8 oz.

    -----------------
    Dinner buns
    ------------
    water - 8 oz
white flour - 2 cups plus 2 Tbsp.
    butter - 2 Tbsp
    dry milk - 1 Tbsp
    sugar - 1 1/2 Tbsp
    salt - 1 tsp
    quick rise yeast - 1 3/4 tsp.

    Topping - 1 egg, beaten

    Use dough mode.
To make buns, divide into balls on lightly greased pan, slightly flatten each one.
Cover and let rise 30-40 minutes.
Brush with egg wash, bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes, or til golden brown

what's the name of the machine? u can download the recipe book from the internet, besides each machine has different measurments for their recipes, i had black and decker and cuininart , i couldn't use the same recipe for both machines.

prepare urself the first loaf of bread is trial and error sometimes first few times till u get the hang of the exact measurments.
i love the loaf of bread machines, has texture, healthy if u want it to be and smells great, unlike the store bought tastes like cardboard and has no texture at all.

Breadmachine Pizza Crust from Hillbilly Housewife

    • 1-1/4 cups water (plus 1 or 2 more tablespoons if necessary)
    • 3 tablespoons olive or other vegetable oil
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 4 cups bread flour or all purpose flour
    • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Measure the ingredients into the bread pan in the order listed. Make a well in the flour and sprinkle the yeast into it. Set the machine to it’s Dough Cycle. After the dough has mixed a few minutes add a spoonful or two of water if the dough seems very dry. On my machine the Dough Cycle lasts 1-1/2 hours. The dough will be risen and puffy in the bread pan when it is done kneading and rising. Punch it down (with out hurting your fist on the paddle); and remove it from the pan. Knead it a few times to get it deflated properly. Divide the dough in half. Divide the dough in half. Let the dough halves rest for about 10 minutes to relax the gluten, making it easier to roll out. Press the dough into 2 – 14″ or 16″ pizza pans. I oilthe pans a little first, but you don’t haveto if you don’t want to.
Top the dough with your favorite sauce and pizza toppings. Bake at 400 degrees for about 15 to 20 minutes. Cut each pan into 12 slices of pizza. Serve hot.

Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls from Money Saving Mom

    Dough:
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons warm milk
    3 tablespoons canola oil
1 egg, lightly beaten plus 2 egg whites
    1/2 cup sugar
4 cups flour (Add a bit more if dough seems too wet after first few minutes of kneading in the bread machine.)
    1 teaspoon salt
    3 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Filling (I doubled this since we like our filling, oh yes we do!):
    2 tablespoons butter
2/3 cup brown sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon cinnamon
    Icing:
    1 teaspoon milk
    1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
4 tablespoons (or less) butter, softened
    1 teaspoon vanilla

Put the dough ingredients in the bread machine in the order listed and run on the dough cycle. After the dough cycle is finished, roll the dough into a large rectangle and spread it with 2 Tablespoons melted butter and 2/3 cup brown sugar mixed with 1 Tablespoon cinnamon.
Roll up and cut into 10-15 rolls and place in two greased round cake pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes or until browned. Spread the icing on as soon as they come out of the oven.
You can also cover the unbaked rolls with plastic wrap, stick them in the refrigerator overnight, and then bake in the morning.

Does anyone have a bread machine recipe that calls for banana's. I have a banana loaf recipe and tons of banana's but no time to "sit and bake" but I can always run my breadmaker while I'm busy doing other things.
    Thanks in advance

    Ingredients:
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1/3-cup butter
    • 1 ounce (1/8 cup) milk
    • 2 Bananas, medium, mashed
    • 1-1/3 cups bread flour
    • 2/3 cup sugar
    • 1-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/2-teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2-teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, but I love em! Could also add choc chips)

Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature. Measure eggs, butter, milk and bananas into the bread pan and set aside. In a medium-mixing bowl, combine the remaining dry ingredients. Mix well and add to the bread pan. Use Quick Bread setting for your machine.
