guessing (ok knowing) a lot of scers will have no idea who he was.
long long time ago there was a tv program (the only music program)
which had musicial artists playing their songs.
everyone was white, in the 'american bandstand' show,
the artists, the dancers etc.
then dick thought since a lot of kids were listening to 'black music'
- let's get black artists on tv.
