Even though I have'nt been doing so well this past week, I needed out of the house! A dd called to say she was coming to visit, and do some housework for me, but I lied to her and said I was going to go lay down
so maybe she could come tomorrow instead. All the time I knew I was going to escape my condo and go shopping, if only for an hour or so. Well here is my advanture for today. My first stop was at SW because I wanted to use my FPC for the sunlight laundry detergent and get the BOGO deal. While there, I also picked up the following:
2 sunlight laundry soap FPC + BOGO = Free
1 Astro yogurt 3.76 - 50%off - $1
1 coffee cream 1.89 - .75
2 pkgs Halal chicken thighs 4.51 - 50% & $4.67 - 50%
2 red salmon fillets 7.57 - 50% & 7.09 - 50%
7 bananas 1.81 - FPC = Free
1 lean ground beef 5.88 - 50%
1 cabbage 1.45
1 bag onions .99
2 dozen eggs 1.89 X 2 - $1.00
1 butter 3.27 - 50% (the foil had a tiny tear in the corner)
1 carton milk 3.29
2 boxes Crystal Light singles 2/6.00 - 50% (boxes were squashed)
1 loaf fresh french bread 1.49
1 Nordic cottage cheese 2.89 - FPC = Free
Total: 74.54
Coupons Used: 43.40
Total OPP: 31.14
Then I drove across the road to make a quick stop at WM to pick up a few things. I purchased the following at WM:
1 JF Hair colour 12.97 - FPC = Free
1 Catelli pasta 1.47 - .75
2 Orville smart pop 3.29 = SCOP 1 plus 2.88 - 1.50 on the other = 1.38 for both boxes
Total: 20.61
Coupons & SCOP: 18.39
Total OPP: 2.22
So my totals for all my shopping is Total Cost : $95.15
Coupons: $61.79
Total OPP: $33.36
Now I was very happy not only about getting out of the house for a bit, but also I thought I did pretty good with my savings. When I came upstairs from the parking garage with my things, who was sitting in my kitchen when I opened the door
my dd. Now,
my joy has turned to guilt. I never, ever lie to my dd's, but they and dh won't let me go out on my own as they are worried something may happen if I start to feel faint or sick. I wanted to take a picture of my nice little haul, but dd just started putting everything away as she was lecturing me just as if I was her child
Seems to me this is usually the other way around. Anyways, thats my story for today. Guess there won't be another one for a while, but I'm happy

OP, sometimes retail therapy is the best medicine, if it works for you.
Your DD just cares for you and may be showing it not the right way with her lecture. Forgive her.

DD might think it would serve you right if she let you do your own darned housework as punishment!
I can understand the need to get out but also DD's concern. My dad had a nasty fall while he was out alone and dragged the entire family to ER! Maybe she could come with you next time and you could let her carry the bags?
Did she lecture you on lying as well? She must have felt like such a mom.

Yes, I know, you are all right, she would have come with me, but sometimes I just want some time to myself. It seems lately so many of my family members are here on a daily basis to help me out. I won't lie again though, I think I hurt her feelings more than anything, however........she did say I got some great deals
