I wish I had a picture of a nest at one of my client's houses, the robins have been coming back year after year and keep adding to it. It's probably 3 times the depth of a regular nest, sort of like a robin condo!

Molly.....do what I've been doing...hang bits of red yarn on near-by branches for them....you may just see them end up sticking out of the nest! It's so much fun ... yesterday we did that with our Grandson...he hung them on two 'christmas trees' in his back yard...they were gone a few hours later!

Great photos!!! We have the same (I think) robins that come back to build a nest under our arbor each year......except when they're nesting they think it's THEIR arbor and are constantly squealing and giving us the stink eye.....along with dive bombing our dog......who takes off after them barking like a nut!! lol. I wish they would build their nest a tiny bit bigger though.....each year there's usually 3 babies and they constantly look like they're about to fall out of the nest and land on their poor heads! And it's all patio stones underneath so it wouldn't be a soft landing!

Oh what a fabulous post! I knew blue was a pretty colour but somehow it seems prettier on bird's eggs. Cannot wait to see the hatch-lings!

I have updated my first post with pics. Unfortunately, I still have not managed to figure out how to post normal size pictures.

This is truely an amazing site to see. How lucky for your family to be able to watch this. This is always something that would be fantastic for little children to be able to watch, I think it would really help them to understand and respect all living creatures. Can't wait to see the next pic. Thanks for posting. Truely amazing!

    Thanks Holly
It's been interesting watching the progression and habits of the birds over the past couple of weeks, however..... my car has been taking a beating... there's a reason for the words "dirty birds" lol.

Oh, my - so very cool to see them just hatched.

For getting pics to a smaller size, I use this site - and resize to either 600 (just the right size for SC) or 350. It's easy, usually quick, and then you just save the pic to a folder on your computer.

Awe.....so cute!!! I'm hoping to snag a few pictures of ours later today. They're a bit further along than yours.....I noticed yesterday that they've started to poke their heads up looking for food. We'll have to keep an eye on our dog once they're big enough to get out of the nest. I don't think he'd intentionally hurt them....but he likes to pounce and scratch at small things that move. Sometimes we think he was crossed with a cat, lol.

Great story and WONDERFUL pictures of the little birdlets! You can even see their little blood systems under their transparent skins. They're amazingly fast grower-uppers! Please keep us in the loop!

I just saw a nest in the local park and the mom is on the nest. I'll have to keep an eye on it over the next little while. I also saw 2 families of Canada Geese with 4 and 5 babies and they're all in the same area at the Bluffs. Spring is so awesome for birding, everything is happening!
