I actually laughed seeing this this morning.... I just fell on my bum in the shower while trying to avoid one of these that crawled out of the drain trap when I turned the water on. I know they're harmless, but they gross me out big time. Normally the cats eat them before I see them, but I guess this one slipped under the radar. Now I've got a bruised bum and a drowned house centipede and I'm blaming the cat

I hate those ones! Spiders at least run in a straight line, those suckers are erratic, the change direction without warning and squirm. Ick.

All of you Ontario folk (I noticed it's only you who have them), Can one of you send me a few? Not for my house, but for my Dad's summer place. that's where the friggin ants like to invade. I HATE ants. I'm neutral to most other insects, but ants need to die. Something that will the hunt them will be my new favorite pet ever!

I remember seeing one last year for the first time since moving into a house from an apt. Quincy got it for me fairly quickly (gotta love your bug catching cat) but I squealed and scrubbed everything it may have come into contact with lol

You can have all the house centipedes you want from my place, provided you can get them away from my cats - definitely not an easy feat I'm not a big fan of ants, but I can. not. stand. Earwigs. They are the worst, worst, worst bugs ever! Kill 'em, douse 'em in bleach, then burn 'em, and they still won't be dead enough for me!

I have in the 14 years living here NEVER seen them on my main floor maybe in the basement 2 or 3 times a year...................so far this year found 3 yes 3 on my Main Floor and it is not damp I almost stepped on one in the kitchen eewwwww. Then like everyone else says I found Simba the kitty playing one in the hallway. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW I am finding bugs period nasty this year even finding more spiders Lets say I have my bug spray ready to go and found something better then raid! I find that VERY stinky but the Food Basics one no smell and kills pr stuns the little buggers!

Hmmm. So the general consensus is that they're not good house pets?

My mom had one of these living in her bedroom.... every morning when she got up, it would be crawling all over the ceiling. She was terrified, but we sprayed the heck out of her room with Raid and she hasn't seen it since
