So I bought a bunch of Nail polish and stuff from the clearance bin marked 3.00 last week. Though some items had individual stickers on them saying 3.00, others did not, but the bin was marked 3.00.

Anyway I get home and see the receipt and see that I was charged 5.00 for 4 items, 2 of which had stickers stating 3.00 on them! (my fault for not paying attention at the store)

    Now what do I do?
Can you SCOP for clearance items?
Do I have to return to the same store to do an adjustment?

    Advice please.

    http://www.competitionbureau.gc.ca/e...eng/01262.html

"If the scanned price of a non-price ticketed item is higher than the shelf price or any other displayed price, the customer is entitled to receive the item free, up to a $10 maximum. When the item has a price tagged, the lowest price applies. When identical items are incorrectly priced, the second one will be sold at the correct price."

Unfortunately, no. You can only use SCOP on non-price ticketed items. If it had an individual sticker, it wouldn't apply. The two that didn't have pricing may have had stickers that fell off, but that may depend on the cashier you get whether or not they give it to you. Since you already left the store, they might also think the stickers fell off while you had them.
You would most likely have to go to the same location for a price adjustment because every store has different clearance items (in my area, anyways).

Yes you can . Yes you have to go to the same location as clearance varies from store to store.

I've used SCOP on clearance items before with no problems.

    Part One:

What I do is have a very detailed shopping list with the item, sale prices and coupons on one line.
I also have space to add additional items in the same way.
( The siren call of the clearance cart !)

As we do the transaction, I very attentively compare the register entry with my pricing on my list.
When there is an issue, ( ie potential SCOP) or a coupon not processed, we deal with it right away.

    Part Two:

When we complete the transaction, I then tell the cashier, " I am just going to stand over here ( just at the end of the till, but out of the way) and go through the receipt"
"My doing this is not reflection on your skill at all. We just completed a very complicated transaction"

After it is checked, I wait for a break between customers and cheerfully say to that same cashier, " That was absolutely perfect, it was so complicated and you did great."

All of this does take more time and I allow for that extra time because it saves me money every time I shop.

Also, I do believe it setting up good relationships with the store management and staff.
After about 7 weeks of this respectful and co-operative treatment from me, they recognize me and love to see me.
"You are not like those other couponers !" is a frequent positive comment.

I must be the only one here to have such luck. When I asked my SDM, they said it didn't apply to clearance because they all had price tags, in which case SCOP doesn't apply.

    That is correct.
It is a Scanning Code, to encourage accuracy, for items without price tags.
