I went to zellers to get 3 free colgate total toothpastes, 4 colgate optic white toothpastes for 99 cents each and feminine products for 4.99 this was after my coupons, my boyfriend got some stuff too, but we just paid together.. so i used my coupons and price matches.. would have cost me about 9$
looked at my receipt when i got home and noticed the cashier made a mistake and instead of $1.00 on one of the coupons she typed $10.00 so all my stuff was legit FREE!! 7 toothpastes and feminine products!! WOOO
was excited to only pay 9$ before i looked at the receipt but hey can't beat free. This thread is currently associated with: Zellers

Oh no! Oh my gosh that cashier is going to get in so much trouble!!!
Nice score for you though. I love when stuff like this happens but I'm not sure I would be able to let it go if I knew about it as I check my receipt before I leave the store.Insert Clever Signature Here

They won't lose their job over it, I worked as a cashier and had my till out once in a while, but you cannot hold the OP responsible for the cashier's mistake, sometimes the universe just throws a little good karma our way and all we can do is be grateful and move on!

A cashier mistake like this happened to me once. I saw the mistake in my favour when I got home.
I called the store and asked to speak to the store manager.
He thanked me for calling but said that I did not need to return to the store.
He just took the details of the overage that I got, the lane number, the time and the items.
He said he was going to inform the cash office and put a note in the cashier's till so the cash office worker would be able to balance.
I felt better letting the manager know.

I don't think this was the OP's fault at all.
I think some employers are different though. When I worked at No Frills if you had more then 3 write ups all together you got fired. A write up could be anything from a interac slip missing, a coupon missing, wearing too dark nail polish, etc etc etc. My last day there I got hit by a quick change scam artist (was about 6 years ago) and lost my till $45. I felt so guilty because they made me feel that way when it was an honest mistake because I was prayed upon by an evil person who was a SCAM artist.Insert Clever Signature Here

I too faced the quick change artist.
I beat them by playing dumb.
When they started with the, "Can you change this and then this", I shut my till and said sorry I can't open it. Maybe my manager can help you out. Boy, he moved fast outta the store when I mentioned "manager".
