And as an occasional coffee drinker I'd be surprised if you turned up with one for me. As that sounds rather cheap on the guest's behalf....I know you don't drink coffee so I bought 2 for me instead.
    Darth put it very well!
My father often does this, brings over coffee after asking if he can grab one for me as well. I am not a coffee drinker, the only thing I order from Timmies is Hot Chocolate, so often the answer to his question is a No, but at least he was polite enough to ask.

I also find it rude to have the television on while you are entertaining (unless the entertaining involves the TV such as Superbowl, movie night), and I won't talk on the phone with the TV blaring. Just how I was raised I suppose

I believe it was either mice or the "easter bunny" (DS calls it that) who have felt the wrath of the hose (light hose...not on jet....). I suspect it was revenge.

Lol....well we're usually only visiting close friends or family so we obviously don't bring coffee if it's something we know they don't drink.....instead we'll offer/pick up a juice, pop, tea, hot chocolate etc etc. It's interesting to see the various opinions on this!! I've always thought of myself as a polite person and it's never even occurred to me that bringing along a coffee for myself and whomever I was visiting was rude! In fact years ago, we used to have a family gathering every week or so, with about 6 or 7 of us and we'd always stop at Tims first and bring a coffee for everyone. It was kind of tradition I suppose, lol.......and everyone was a chronic Tims drinker so it was never thought of poorly.

Anyone is welcome to show up at my house bearing goodies....especially anything in the chocolate family! lol

I can understand it in a get-together sort of way, someone always grabs the drinks, munchies, treats etc etc I get that one completely.

My comment is more towards when you've set up a time to just come over and chat, unless you said you were bringing something, or asked if you could, I'd find it very odd to see you show up with anything in your hands.

I mean, I wouldn't show up for dinner with a hamburger in my pocket, so why show up to chat with a coffee in hand?

Now bringing a treat everyone can enjoy (Laura Secord Chocolates) is just fine ;-)

When you have a friend of primary school move near you ...that is cool and I dont complain...my complain is when I take a conversation and he said to me all the stupidities a girlfriend (not anymore and never again ...she will be my girlfriend) I hate our friendship...wow...talking in my back about truly personnals things to another friend is just cheap and gross...some people need a brain.....I was so angry, humiliated and pissed...never I will put trust in friend...never.... but this friend is nice and he dont talking to her anymore...but that just ............what the goal to said things who are blessed.....and personnal...grrrr

If I want to say to this person I will said...it's my life not yours...the poor guy was debalanced to said that to me...yes when you start a conversation you can be surprise what we will learn...

...oh also when you traded away almost all of your nestea coupons and now it goes on with bonus airmiles at Metro! Ok yes I hate the stuff but my Mom loves it...and it sucks when the last time you were at Metro they only had skids of the old boxes with the BOGO movie passes. I will be saying good-bye to my last two......

When you're stuck in a traffic jam, unable to go anywhere and the driver behind is constantly sounding his horn.

That's what the middle finger is for!! I actually got a very large bump on mine that needs to be lanced everyday. Doc said it was from overworking it.
