I have been watching and searching through this site for the past month...trying to figure out everything! I have been collecting coupons and trying to work on it all! As I have always had a love for shopping, and especially good deals - but nothing like the things I saw on this site! I got hooked right away!!
Post-holidays I got lots of great deals - especially at my favourite store Williams Sonoma!! I probably spent around $100 there, but got $300 worth of stuff (btw there are still some sales left there for those kitchen lovers!) Pottery Barn also has lots of great stuff still on sale there - I got a bag of pomegranate decor to put in a glass bowl for 2.99!!
Anyways today was my first real day of coupons and it was a disaster! I thought I was all prepared to go to RCSS - which is not close to where I live so it's a real trip there. I had all of my coupons set and started off.
When my mom and I got in the store we checked out all the great 50% off bargains and found a gingerbread mix for 0.94$!! There was also a Clean & Clear Blackhead Eraser that regularly goes for $25 for $3.99!!!!!! Plus there are -1.00 coupons out there! I just got the refills because I have been looking for them everywhere (I swear by the product) and I think that they might be discontinuing it ... which is a real shame, I might call and find out!
We headed to the pharma section where the gillette shave creams were BOGO and stocked up with all our coupons. We also got lots of Secret deodorant and Head and Shoulders. We spent time making sure that there were the appropriate number of items for our coupons so that there wouldn't be any problems at the cash....
On our way through the store there was this loaf pan (Nordic Ware - good stuff- they sell their products to Michaels, Williams Sonoma and lots of other kitchen ware stores) just sitting in the aisle, no price tag, no nothing! I said, I should investigate...
I looked for a young cashier who seemed friendly because not only did we have all these coupons, but an inquiry about a product price AND some products (Clean and Clear) were not showing up on the scanners.
The sweetest cashier, but she totally messed up our cash out. With darting glares from people around us, she kindly said that she would void the transaction, finish with those customers and close the line then help us! Couldn't have asked for a nicer girl!
We made our non-coupon purchases first - which was a steal themselves with BOGO all over the store (Ace Bakery Crackers, Ground Chicken...)
Then headed into the mother load. She was so kind taking her time and making sure we got it right.
I was turning BEAT RED the entire time. My mom has no problem with this, but I need to build up a little more courage for the next time!
Here it is:
Grand Total: 27.43 (11.96 of taxes ugh)
Total Savings: 103.52!!!!!!!!!!!!
NordicWare Loaf Pan = .94$ (Cashier called to find out the cost and no one called back so she told me she would give it to me for .94$!!!!!!)
She told me I was lucky because she is a manager! Although I walked out there a shade of red I usually only get after too much wine...it was quite worth it!
I went to Old Navy to pick up some gifts. I have family over seas that I send packages to every couple of months and I am preparing a summer package for them! 50% off everything on clearance!!!
Spring Raincoat for Kids = 5.99-50% = 3$
Ballet Skirt = 3.99-50% = 2$
Sweatshirt = 7.99-50% = 4*2 = 8$
Shirts = 3.99-50% = $2*4 = $8
3 Mitts = 3.99=50% = 4.50$
Total: Roughly $28
Some other items I have picked up recently:
Spatulas @ Williams Sonoma: 2.99 (flat) 3.99 (spoon)
Lettuce Knife @ Williams Sonoma: 3.99
Hand Soap @BBW: 1.37 each

Awesome brags! As for the red face..Mine gets like that EVERY single trip! No matter if I'm using 1 coupon or 50 LOL! I'm hoping to eventually not get so "embarrassed" by using coupons. Actually its not so much that I'm embarrassed about using them as it is about people staring at me like I'm a freak. But that's fine by me when they see how much I saved and want to know how I do it. DUH COUPONS!

AGREED! It's not the coupons, it's the people in line...and I feel awful for holding them up! Well it doesn't look like I'll get a brag like that for a while...today I did some Colgate toothbrushes & toothpaste from Fortinos for free...planning on doing some SDM stuff on Sunday! It's much easier when it's a little trip!!
But seeing the pantry fill up like a stock room...well that's pleasure enough

Great brag! lol I tend to get rosy cheeks when a transaction gets derailed and the line gets held up. The longer the wait, the rosier they get. And I can feel myself heating up too, though, I blush very easily to begin with. I usually try to remind myself that even though I feel red and rosy now, I will be laughing all the way to the car with my cool savings.
