Yes, I too made a trip to SDM ti get that free toothpaste and brush but I always check the coupon before the till. So I went home with just the Softlips lip thingy. It's enough stress having to deal with ignorant cashiers and suspicious customers, but I don't like to be turned down using my coupons either. If you didn't know you didn't know. It happens to all of us

Even if the fine print states certain restrictions, I bring it to customer service first to see if I can use it, seeing as I'm new to the couponing world I should play by the stores rules. If they says it's ok, then I listen. The last thing I would want to do is bring 10 items that I intend to use coupons for and do the walk of shame out the door, with only a couple items.
Great Brag btw! Trust me, go through all the bragging threads, I am also guilty of using the toothbrush coupon even though it said not too, and getting 6 free softlips, but that was only done after I checked with customer service, and they gave me the go ahead.

WTG on your brag, good for you!! I have to say, in reading through this thread, it is one of the most judgemental of any I have read...for no reason that I can understand personally. We should all be happy for your good fortune and for teaching us about the disparities between the shopper's drug mart stores which are all independently owned.

Way to go! And I don't know about you, but before I joined this forum, not only would I not have ever got a single thing for free, I also wouldn't likely have noticed any great sales and even if I did, I would have only bought something if I'd run out of at home. How things change.. Great that your Shoppers is cooperative with coupons a penny over. I might try price matching at Walmart today on some of those deals. My Shoppers won't budge on the penny over issue.

Sweet! I love getting stuff free--but it always feels even better when it's during a week when the budget says you have to abstain from shopping. LOL. Great job!

How rude. What does it matter to you whether the OP did it in one transaction or 10? It's no skin off of your back. Nobody needs to prove anything, to you or anyone else.
As for the coupons being used on the wrong size/type of toothbrush and toothpaste, I believe burkeyswife is an honest and good person, and didn't mean to use the coupons on the wrong items. It's a lot harder to get free stuff in the east, so I could see somebody getting a bit ahead of themselves if they thought they found a deal.

I'm pretty shocked at some of the negative responses expressed on this thread. Especially since the majority of SCers are so supportive and encouraging.
I am happy for BurkeysWife for getting the fabulous deals!! I myself have used all the coupons she did at SDM , and I did so successfully multiple times and at multiple locations (without any awareness that I should not have.)
Many people are going to benefit from the softlips, toothpaste and toothbrushes I received.....my family, my friends, and local charities.
And Softlips, Sunlight, and Colgate have received more FREE publicity from this SDM sale than they ever could have imagined.
Trust me EVERYONE made money off of these sales....... from us as consumers going into the store to use our coupons SDM makes money because they will be reimbursed for the FULL value of the coupons (even if your cashier took a penny off) and don't kid yourself none of the manufacturers know when the coupons are submitted to them that they were used on sale items. The manufacturers make money because they sell the items to SDM at wholesale prices and now that SDM has had their shelves cleared they will re-order stock and make the manufacturers even more money through reorders. And the Government makes money because we as consumers still pay taxes on all the items even when received for free.
So as far as I am concerned....EVERYBODY wins!!!!!
Let's keep the snarky comments off these friendly boards!

I apologize if this post I did had anything to do with jump-starting the meanness that has happened on here...
Honestly I have made similar couponing mistakes... Like one time I went into walmart and accidentally used the wrong Folgers coupon, and didn't realize until I was home... (there were 2 almost identical Folgers coffee coupons out at the same time, except one was for any coffee and the other was for only original and black silk...I especially felt bad because it was an old friend who was the cashier... I hadn't seen her in years and neither of us were paying much attention...
