Small pleasures....

There is nothing that brings out my mothering instincts more at home lately, than carrying a floppy, sleepy dachshund to bed with me...so precious and trusting....and did I mention floppy?!

And it's lovely...we go to sleep like this:







But WHY am I always cuddling THIS in the morning??!!


Only somehow her butt's under my arm a bit closer than this, which I'm cuddling in my sleep...sigh...and her head is near the edge of the bed, but we're both completely covered. OR, she's somewhere around my ankles.....We've had 4 dogs...and if I ever get another one (I don't see me living long enough to do that, lol), it'll be another doxie..!!!

In your post - "But WHY am I always cuddling THIS in the morning??!!" - then you post the pic of the MAN - I'm thinking, well, why wouldn't you cuddle him in the morning? - then I realized he was too young to be your husband, LOL!

Aww, how sweet! I love the photos, Lynn. I have to say that your lucky the pup stays asleep as long as you do. My cats consistently wake up about 10-30 minutes before me and try to think of ways to get me out of bed sooner so that they can have attention... One likes to rub her paws under my nose ever so gently or purr very loudly beside me until I come to enough to put an arm out and cuddle her, while the other is less polite: she will just stick her butt in my face, meow loudly, or (most effectively) stand on my bladder

Natalka...lol...noooo! Ewww, not the guy, the doggie butt! Which, if I had to choose, is still the funner choice....save me from younger guys! I don't see the draw Cougars have to them...I'd feel like a babysitter! lol!

Aussie.......those feet are having a cool soak after a day of shopping!

Aw, poor Glowworm...cats can be so devious.... ..Jenny and I slept in until 9:30 this morning and even then, I had to keep waking her up!

Thank you Vee...she really is my little baby...and at 62 2/3 years old that's about the only baby I have the energy for!

Lil, thank you...she's just the best company and such a goofy joy to have around...

Thank you, Anisa....wine is very relaxing...as was the pool, and you know what? You're right about relaxing when Jenny's around...I guess I'm still feeling that "empty nest" thing...even tho it was emptied 16 years ago!

LOL...our poor hubbies! Mine says he 'doesn't mind sleeping on 1/3 of the bed..."! Hehehe!!! I have no idea how a little pooch can take up so much of the bed, but she does...and who am I to say she can't? "Boyfriend"...lol...so cute!! Do you have a pic of him"
That smile comes from "OMG, my feet are killing me from shopping, AND I need wine!"

HOLLY!! It's SO funny that you'd say that! My actual Florida wine-glass is plastic...we were looking for one there that I could have by the pool, so my hubby holds up this GOBLET-sized one at a buck store, and says, "How's this one?", and I was lined up at the cash register with obviously other snow-birds and we all had a good laugh..it was HUGE! I said, "That'll do just fine"..
I still have it and smile when I think of that day...so funny!!!!
