Not really a bird sighting more of a bird landing.A couple of weeks ago I was kneeling on the ground weeding the flower bed I felt something on my neck it was a bird I turned my head and a sparrow flew away. What a dumb bird.

I don't have any pictures, but we had some Orioles in the backyard the other day trying to get rid of a Crow that was hanging around.
I've never seen them around before, and at first had no idea what type of bird it was. I didn't know we had Orioles in Southern Ontario.

A male rose breasted grosbeak comes to eat daily and doesn't mind me being there. Now if I could just coordinate the timing with my camera...
Not my pic, but this is what the little fellow looks like

Someone who knew us in a former life still had our number and asked if we would take in a fledgling that had been victimized by two cats. The little fellow had lost a few feathers and was a bit stunned, but otherwise unharmed. I have been feeding him (?) for over two weeks now and dh gave him a test flight this afternoon and released him. I am so happy

I have 2 types of bird feeders in my backyard, plus I add mixed feed each morning on the top of a 4 foot shed I have. So far I have had chickadees, blue jays, swallows, common grackles (those messy buggers) and yesterday a yellow-bellied flycatcher who flew off before I could get a picture!

So I am curious if anyone else has noticed a new crop of "baby" birds and other furry creatures around their neck of the woods.
The other day we saw a squirrel carry something across the road, took a closer look and it was a baby. Teeny Tiny like only a few weeks old. Then yesterday in the backyard the dog stumbled across a baby Mourning Dove just learning to fly. Lucky for the dove he managed to fly over the gate. Then on our walks in the fields we've come across little teeny bunnies!!!
Im thinking that with this long warm season the animals had a chance for some late breeding?
