2 Mallard ducks in my neighbors pool quacking away this morning. LOL

the other day I actually seen a red headed wood pecker very excited I never see them here

Chickadees, junkos, purple finches, yellow finches, 3 pairs of mourning doves, a pair of cardinals, downey woodpecker, northern flicker, hairy woodpecker, and a few others that in the process of being identified.

Yesterday I saw 2 blue jays on the tree by where we park our car. We have a few that are around the back yard area and I usually see them from afar but yesterday I got to see them pretty close up and there so pretty!

My Bird Bath attracts more cats than birds. Mine especially loves to sit in it, as does the other next door.
The Mourning doves have once again set up shop in a wee tree on my neighbour's lawn.I have permission to trample on their lawn to look, yet have yet seeing the entire nest, lat alone a bird.

The Birds are happy campers around here Its nice to hear them tweeting, My dog Chanel likes to chase the birds HA HA ,We also have blackbirds dive bombing our cars and dropping there payloads of you know what on the cars good game for them lol. These days the lilacs are almost finished and they are attracking loads of butterflys its amazing to watch theres so many of them and also other small things that fly.

Has anyone here bought the bulk bag @ Bulk Barn and have had moths come out of the bag?
This is bag#2 which I've had this problem with, and this time around I sealed the bag tightly. So I believe it is coming from within the bag.

skippy, the baby eagle (aptly named phoenix) has grown so large and is expected to fly by july 21st! hope you've been checking in to catch some amazing footage. I've been blown away by the perspective.

I haven't had that problem with any bags from the bulk barn but had quite the infestation with another brand of seed I bought from zellers. are they meal moths? pesky little things that reproduce like mad so hopefully you can contain them. we had opened the bag in the kitchen and minutes later there were moths all over the walls. I wrote to the company to complain and it was well received; they apologized profusely, said they do everything to avoid this but that it's a pretty common problem with bird seed/grain and sometimes can't be avoided. they sent me a money order refund. best of luck with the moth control.

Remember to fill you bird baths daily and if you can put out extra shallow bowls around the garden for all the critters. It's brutal for them right now especially in the city where it's hotter than heck. I even have a steady stream of wasps, bees and hornets coing to drink from the little puddle that drips out of my pool filter.

we have a woodpecker drinking out of our hummingbird feeder. i have never heard of that before. i did a google search and apparently it's common, as long as the feeder has holes big enough for their beaks. still a strange sight to me!
