Expiredbaically we are mostly all aware of the fraudulent nature of the show, and we can all probably admit to doing something coupon related that wasn't necessarily nice, but this is just wrong. people using 200 coupons for free toilet paper??? that just doesn't happen! and the stores know it and just turn a blind eye. My issue though with the show is that instead of showing the benefits of coupon shopping, the choose to "report" on a damn coupon orgy overload where their stars get $2000+ of groceries for under $5. if TLC really cared to educate people on the benefits of coupon shopping they would be better off teaching people how to use individual coupons with different rules, looking at the cashiers and getting their point of view into it as well, and would only ever have people buying one or two items per trip to show how deals can be made. instead they cover up all the grunt work and finish it off with an orgasmic climax of 99% savings!!! SERIOUS!! TLC, The Learning Channel, the only thing they taught us is that they think their audience is mindless and will just believe anything they are told.

I think the show is pretty negative and bad for couponers as companies will just become more and more strict with coupons they release.

Well, I sure hope that episode aired after the watershed....given the very risque nature of it...

Is sad to say but Extreame couponing has really damaged the Canadian couponing .. saddly to say I have been at stores where the managers goes and says "this ppl think we are in USA" and thats is just rude .. I bealive that most of us are trying to make a honest use of our coupons and try to abide by the rules but this show has really really really damaged our reputation as couponers
Happy Shopping !!

I watch it for entertainment vaule. I don't take the show seriously. Like I saw one episode were the girl was like, "OH I go to K-Mart and get all my supplies, because they are coupon friendly and I can use my points card" OK, than after they go to commercial...and all you here is this program is sponsored by K-Mart! LOL. I think K-Mart gives them coupons, deals or other things to have these people go on the show and shop there. I also think other places they shop at they get certain deals to.

I know what you mean wolfwoman. I laugh alot at these people. The best is when one woman was like, "Oh I am running low on laundry soap"..and she had like 50-80 of them still LOLOLOLOL. Low to me is like 2 or 3 lol. Like if you do a big shopping like they do, like don't go shopping for another few months...not the next week after.
I also don't like what they do because it gives couponers like us a bad name. People think couponers are horders, cheap and or just poor and that is not the case. Like if there is a great deal on toilet paper and I can get them free, great I would take a few, not 200 lol.Last edited by saveadollardiva; Fri, Jun 15th, 2012 at 03:02 PM.

Sorry granny about those words I used with a sexual connotation. But they are totally valid for this show. Just like some ladies say they feel high when getting a good deal, they idealize the pleasurablity of getting a good deal to the absolute extremes. It's what the Americans want to see. Because they don't get overtly sexual programming on their television stations, or even programming with slight sexual messages, they try to make everything else about reaching the climax. But yes, ask you might not know I am a 20 year old male English student, so my writing is inclined towards the sexual.

People wouldn't watch the show if it were how to use coupons.. it would get boring really quick.. Tv Channels are all about ratings.. I know alot of people are saying that show is ruining couponing but to me it seems lately things are improving. Stores are starting to realise how much money is to be made from couponers and are making changes to encourage us to shop there.
Some really good examples of this are:
Shoppers Drug Mart now allowing us points on FPCs and finally acknowleging that we get points BEFORE the coupons are taken off.. this is huge
Freshco is now accepting printed coupons AND giving overage.
I really like the way we can use coupons in Canada, it seems great to me.
AS for the ladies on the EC show who freeze registers.. this only EVER happens to a person once. I used to sell on ebay and had about 6 stores where someone would call and offer me end of season clearout at greatly reduced prices. This would be 2 or 3 racks of clothes at a time.. We only ever froze the register once.. after that I always had them stop about 50 items in. The fact that people didn't know that would happen means they didn't usually shop that way. The shows are designed not to educate , same as the housewifes etc.. they are designed to entertain , to get us to watch so advertisers pay them.. thats the bottom line..Be sure to click like and post a brag if you get the deal.. It makes my day!!! Flattery may just get you more deals
Be sure to double check your flyer, points and cashback offers~ YMMV

i find the show first episode will show a fair couponer (although larger shops) then the second show they show the extreme bad couponer (the one who steals papers/clears shelves/nothing but crap/the stress yeller) what i don't get is wording has changed in canada you can't buy single rolls.. but.. in the states you can..
When life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....
