Gosh, even if Trudeau doesn't know stuff, doesn't he have a ton of advisers to stop him from making these gaffs?

We’re also introducing stronger and more rigorous background checks on gun sales. And if you want to buy a gun, by law you’ll have to show a license at the point of purchase. Right now that’s not a requirement.

Uh, uh, Justin, current law requires you show a license to purchase...

I was marching in Montreal with the brood. There was about 1thousand people there from small children to grandparents. It was awesome.

I wonder if those people who were saying it was only about missing a few minutes of school have changed their minds yet????

    Probably not.

An American liberal friend at another forum responded to an American conservative friend who stated rifles weren't a problem, with this chart.

    https://www.statista.com/statistics/...y-weapon-used/

The liberal thought his argument was solid, guns kill lots of people, but he didn't look closely at the chart he posted so I called him on it, cause that's what I do. Please look at the chart.

Guns are by far the leading method of murder. But it's handguns. Rifles -all rifles- including semi automatic 'assault' rifles are 7th on the list, far behind knives, hammers and even fists. So why is there all this clamor to ban 'assault' rifles? If people were serious about gun control, then it should be handguns they go after., right? They're responsible for 20 times more murders than rifles. so why is the left saying nothing about handguns? Is it just because a black semi-automatic rifle looks scary?

Sad story about a US family vacationing in Mexico-it's thought the gas oven was faulty. Are carbon monoxide detectors not part of vacation rentals' amenities in Mexico?

US President pardons Scooter Libby over lying about leaks

US President Donald Trump has pardoned former Vice-President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, who was convicted of lying about leaks to the media.
Lewis Libby, known as Scooter, was found guilty in 2007 following an investigation into the unauthorised disclosure of a CIA agent's identity.

The White House said Libby was "fully worthy of this pardon".
"I don't know Mr Libby," said Mr Trump, "but for years I have heard that he has been treated unfairly.
"Hopefully, this full pardon will help rectify a very sad portion of his life."

President Donald Trump says he has approved US military strikes against Syrian chemical weapons sites, in collaboration with the UK and France.
The strikes are in response to an alleged chemical attack on the Syrian town of Douma last week.
"A combined operation with the armed forces of France and the United Kingdom is now underway," President Trump said in an address to the nation.
Explosions were reported near the Syrian capital Damascus.
"We are prepared to sustain this response until the Syrian regime stops its use of prohibited chemical agents," President Trump said.
UK Prime Minister Theresa May confirmed British involvement, saying there was "no practicable alternative to the use of force".
But she also said the strikes were not about "regime change".
UK strikes carried out by four Tornado jets hit a military site near the city of Homs, which is believed to have housed precursor materials for chemical weapons, the ministry of defence said.
French President Emmanuel Macron also confirmed his country's participation in the operation.

    You are correct @Natalka
I went to bed last night hoping that there would still be a world left to wake up to....THAT is how much confidence I have in Trump!

First Lady Barbara Bush declines further hospital care

Ailing US former First Lady Barbara Bush has declined further medical treatment and will spend her time in "comfort care" with her family.
Mrs Bush, 92, made her decision after a series of recent hospital visits, a statement from the office of husband George HW Bush said.
Mrs Bush played an active role whilst first lady, championing the cause of adult literacy among others.
Her husband, at 93, is the longest-lived US president.
Mr Bush, the nation's 41st president, has also suffered health issues, and spent a period in intensive care for pneumonia last year.

The statement from his office read: "It will not surprise those who know her that Barbara Bush has been a rock in the face of her failing health, worrying not for herself - thanks to her abiding faith - but for others."
It added: "She is surrounded by a family she adores, and appreciates the many kind messages and especially the prayers she is receiving."
The statement did not reveal the nature of Mrs Bush's ailments.
