More on the capital one breach. Not to be ignored.
From CBC News Alerts on Twitter:
“Capital One says Canadians affected by data breach to receive free credit monitoring tool, identity theft insurance. Hacked data includes names, addresses, phone numbers, credit scores of about 6 million Canadians. “
ETA: Here is the online post from Cap One. Provides more details but who knows if they are telling all.

Sadly, this is the second news story this summer where a North American senior died and had his or her body partially consumed by animals. At least a relative was persistent in trying to determine where her relation was.

Canada can’t supply U.S. marker with cheaper drugs, despite Trump tweets
By MICHAEL RACHLIS CONTRIBUTOR
Sun., Aug. 4, 2019
On Wednesday, Donald Trump tweeted that his administration would OK the importation of Canadian drugs: “Lowering drug prices for many Americans — including our great seniors!”
This predictably set off alarms in Ottawa and in the media. But are these concerns really warranted or is this just another example of Trump setting the media agenda, in this case inadvertently in Canada.

There actually is a shortage of cancer drugs (in Canada), as some have recently have become off-patent, hence not as profitable since generic versions can be made. Nova Scotia in particular, along with Ontario and some other provinces have this issue.

Finally, a good news story about credit card debt.
U.S.-based Chase Bank is forgiving all outstanding debt owed by users of its two Canadian credit cards: the Amazon.ca Rewards Visa and the Marriott Rewards Premier Visa. The bank retired both cards last year and said it's wiping out cardholders' debt to complete its exit from the Canadian credit card market.

Ah, @GoodBoy , you got those two financial stories posted! Thanks. They both are riveting reads.
Everyone may enjoy reading about a current Hamilton resident (Ukrainian heritage) , now 100 years old, who was born in Saskatchewan and considered herself the original Cabbage Patch baby.
