Lol! Dave you are good. So true we are not worthy, and also true, it is only by the love of God we have any salvation. Nevertheless. . . .would we therefore assume by the grace of God we can do our own thing and accept salvation? (because we are sinners)
I believe that may be a mistake many make, don't you think?
2 Corinthians 7:10
For sadness in a godly way produces repentance leading to salvation, leaving no regret; but the sadness of the world produces death.
Romans 10:2
For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to accurate knowledge. 3 For because of not knowing the righteousness of God but seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

The verdict came in. Toronto police Const. James Forcillo has been found guilty of attempted murder, but not guilty of a more serious charge of second-degree murder in the 2013 streetcar shooting death of 18-year-old Sammy Yatim. I'm not sure what kind of sentence it will carry, if any.

So essentially they are saying he JF is not at fault for firing the first few shots that killed SY, but is at fault for firing the shots as SY lay on the ground.
Sentence range would be 4 years to life?

The station I was watching on had a lawyer on who said, the jury would have reached the verdict they did based on not having enough evidence to say he meant to kill him with the first shots, but that the subsequent shots were intended to kill him. And my interpretation is he would receive 4 years to life as well. We'll see though.

Some Syrian refugees sponsored by the government say they're not getting much help in Canada from Immigration Minister John McCallum, right, and would rather go back to their refugee camps overseas, such as this one in Lebanon. (Bilal Hussein/Associated Press)

I had heard this on radio news, and thought - no, surely that's not right - but, yep, story is here.
I cannot wait to hear the response of the Liberal government to this... and I'm concerned, hoping Trudeau does proper homework before changing anything.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reaches out to Trudeau government
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reached out Tuesday to the new government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau while decrying the government of Trudeau's predecessor Stephen Harper as "Russia-phobic."
Speaking during a wide-ranging annual foreign affairs news conference in Moscow, Lavrov said Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trudeau met on the sidelines of the G2O meeting in November in Turkey and "both expressed desire to normalize relations."
After that meeting, Trudeau said to reporters he had told Putin that "Russia's interference in Ukraine must cease."
Russia looks forward to correct the "mistakes of predecessors," referring to Stephen Harper's government, Lavrov said Tuesday. He called the last two years under the Harper government a "lost opportunity " in bilateral relations.
Lavrov said Russia "was stunned by the absence of pragmatism" as Canada followed the "blatant interests of the Ukrainian diaspora ignoring Canada's national interests."
Russia looks forward to new relations with Canada, Lavrov said.
Canada imposed economic sanctions and travel bans on a list of Russians after Russia annexed Crimea in 2014. Russia issued counter bans on some Canadian food imports and restricted entry for a list of Canadians. Those are still in effect.
The sanctions are adding to Russia's current economic crisis brought on by the plunging price of oil, and a deeply depreciated ruble.
At his news conference, Lavrov said Russia will not hold talks on returning Crimea to Ukraine.
"We have nothing to give back. We are not holding any talks with anyone on returning Crimea," he said. "Crimea is a territory of the Russian Federation in full accordance with the expression of the will of its peoples."

During the campaign didn't Trudeau say he was going to head-butt Putin when he met him? Something like that. Little putz.
