this is more Sports related, but I simply loved the comments and choice made by some of the MLB players who opted out of the 2020 Season. This fellow in particular from the Colorado Rockies, Ian Desmond has his priorities straight. Husband and father first, baseball player after that.

Monday night, Colorado Rockies outfielder Ian Desmond posted an emotional stating he will also be opting out of playing this season. The 34-year-old, who is biracial, made reference to the ongoing racial tensions in the country and the pandemic as why his family needs him at home.


"The COVID-19 pandemic has made this baseball season one that is a risk I am not comfortable taking," his post reads.


"With a pregnant wife and four young children who have lots of questions about what's going on in the world, home is where I need to be right now.
Home for my wife, Chelsey. Home to help. Home to guide. Home to answer my older three boys' questions about Coronavirus and Civil Rights and life. Home to be their Dad."

I just saw this, um.... I suppose you could call it a PSA of sorts but I found this Sheriff to be a titch threatening??
Maybe it's just me. Sounds like he is drooling at the mouth just looking for some protestors to show up in his County.
When he says " as long as you protest peacefully, no problem " I would like to believe him.
However, I have a sneaking suspicion some of these " deputized " legal gun owners will show up early and will be trigger happy.
Talk about a dog whistle!!

SCOTUS ...grrr!
2 decisions handed down this morning which give Trump more time to dodge the release of those long awaited tax returns. It was a victory for the SDNY who has an investigation ongoing about the Stars payments....sigh....doesn't that seem so long ago now? ( Stormy Daniels )
Nothing will get handed over to Cy Vance ( SDNY ) before the election because Trumps Lawyers will delay.
BUT...should Trump loses the election they can come after him as a private citizen.
How fast can he run??

Congresses cases ( 3 separate Committees requested those stupid returns ) were denied by the Justices, if I understood the ruling it can be interpreted as a temporary victory for Trump as theirs is being sent back down to the lower courts for another stab at things.

So in the meantime.......lets hope the gems that his niece Mary is releasing with her new book ( and
apparently she has some of his tax return info ) will give some proof of his Russian connections.

Trump took questions today at the W.H. OMG man, why do that to yourself!? You just knew the first question would be " how do you feel about the SCOTUS 7-2 decision to allow the SDNY to obtain your tax returns? "

Just listened to the ( Democratic ) Mayor of Atlanta, Georgia ( Keisha Bottoms ) as she described her family's present ordeal ( testing + for the virus ) it taking EIGHT days for their tests to come back, having one of her children asymptomatic and her DH's loss of 20 lbs in a matter of days as he slept around the clock not able to even speak without drifting back off.

And during all of that as she tries to do her job based on the current spike in cases, the CDC mask and social distancing recommendations ( so basically the science of the virus ) the pig headed Republican Governor ( KEMP!! ) continues to try and thwart every decision and recommendation.
He believes he can TRUMP out her voice and her power......surprise, he can't!!
Who can possibly be against wearing masks at this point??

There is denial and then there is DENIAL!

Two separate articles about Covid-19 and how real people believe what they want ( and hear from the GOP party ) and then suffer the fallout.
The big difference is when average folks catch this the medical bills are a burden they cannot afford, but when the Republican Governors and Senators catch it they get the best medical care the cost is not an issue.
