Making it even simpler.
Piazza: Get 50 AMs by buying 4 = $20 Total Weight: 3.8Kg
Select: Get 50 AMs by buying 2 = $21.98 Total Weight 2.6 Kg. Use 2 PLU codes $19.98
So you get the same AMs for the same price ($20 vs. $19.98) but you get 46% more product buying the Piazza.

OS,
Have you received this week's?
I'm still "unsubscribed" although head office says it's trying to fix the problem.

Yeah, remember $1 saved by coupon equals $2 earned before taxation.
I was in our Safeway last night and talked to a fellow who was buying 2 packages of the ice cream sandwiches. He was an Air Mile collector but hadn't checked his email.direct. Too Bad.
Use this thread in conjunction with this to get a total picture of Safeway's AirMile promotions:

Was just in Safeway to get prices on one of this weeks specials from email.direct:
Safeway Ice Cream Sandwiches Buy 2 Get 40 Air Miles
They are $6.42 (12 pack) each so two are $12.84 (There was no 18 pack when I was there.
40 AMs approx. $5.60
Effective price: $7.24 for 2.4 KG
At the same time in the current coupon booklet there's a buy 2 Get 15 AMs on Eating Right Frozen Yogurt Sandwiches.
They are $2.99 each and buying 4 gives the same weight as the ice cream sandwiches and 30 AMs.
Total price: $11.96
30 AMs approx. $4.20
Effective price = $7.76 for 2.4 KG
So the ice cream is a slightly better deal but you have 2 buy twice as much weight to get any AMs.
Perhaps a better deal is the Eating Right frozen yogurt 946 ml @ $3.29 Buy 2 Get 20 AMs.
2 = 1.892 kg = $6.58
20 AMs approx. = $2.40
Effective price = $4.18 for 1.892 KG
The equivalent price for 2.4 KG is $4.18 x (2.4/1.892) = $5.30 vs. $7.24 for the ice cream sandwiches.

OK, the best one looks to be the 100 Air Miles.
With the approx. value of an AM = $0.14 that's worth $14.
10% off on $100 is only $10
The Edwards Coffee (757g) would have to be worth more than $10.50 to beat the AM offer and $7.50 to beat the 10% offer.
Thanks OS,
Received an e-mail from Safeway:
Please send us you Safeway Card Number and Air Miles Card number so we can get you back on the list.
So I sent to them for the 3rd time!
Sheesh!!

BTW: Here's a possible way to play these coupons to maximum effect:
Note: Under normal circumstances on 10% off or 10 Xs the Air Miles Tuesday you're better off taking the 10% off as the 10 Xs AMs is only on the base AirMiles which is 1 AM/$20 spent.
If you spend $40:
10% off = $4.00
Base AMs on $40 = 2
10Xs = 20 AMs
Approx. Value = $2.80 so 10% at $4.00 is better
That doesn't apply to this week's specials.
Safeway has a Buy 2 Get 50 AMs on Purex Toilet Paper @ $6.99 each
After adding in tax (BC) you're looking at $7.82 each
Buy 14 = 109.48
Take the Air Miles or the 10%
Air Miles:
(7 offers (14/2) x 50 AM) + 100 AM bonus = 450 AMs approx. $63 value
$109.48 - $63 = $46.48 effective price
10% off:
7 offers = 350 AMs approx. value = $49
10% off = $10.95
$109.48 - $49 - $10.95 = $49.05 effectively
So you have a slight advantage choosing the 100 AMs vs. the 10% Off ($46.48 vs $49.05)

BTW: This is one of those situations where if you donate to charity/food banks you come out ahead depending on your tax bracket.
Cost of TP = $109.48
Value of AirMiles = $63
50% tax credit = $109.48/2 = $54.74
So you spend $109.48 but get back ($63 + $54.74 =) $117.74
I note this is one of the featured suggestions on the Air Miles website this week. I've been writing about this for years but I see they credited someone from Saskatchewan for this. I'm thinking of demanding an Air Miles bonus for plagarism! LOL!
Regardless, if you donate to food banks anyway this is a terrific way to help them and get something out of it for yourself at the same time. Make sure you give them the receipt.
