confused newbie :)

hi gang,

thanks to my joining smart canucks a week ago and reading countless posts, i saved over $80 this week.

i'm still a bit confused as to how people wind up going to zellers or walmart etc...and buying, for example, $100 worth of stuff and paying only a few dollars.

i've been reading the brag section all week trying to see how this all works.

i guess what ultimately confuses me is where do people get all the coupons from? i notice a few people got tide for free or next to nothing at canadian tire with a $5 coupon.....but where do you get the coupons from in the first place?

i realize it's a bit of a learning curve, so i need to be patient

if you go into the 'dicuss and request deals' section Giving-Small is hosting a thread on 'how to be an epic couponer'. I just joined because I had many of the same questions as you and I ran into that thread. look it up if you're interested.

Welcome to the forum Camp! Most of us get our coupons from www.save.ca / www.websaver.ca / www.brandsaver.ca / www.gocoupons.ca and in the Sunday paper there are coupon inserts, most grocery stores/pharmacies have tear pads of coupons, some products have peelies which are coupons on the outside of the product which you use when your buying it, and there are also coupons inside of a lot of products for instance POGO corn dogs, cereals, toilet paper, etc. You just have to look on the product packaging and it tells you if there is coupons in it or not.

Grab a cup of coffee and get familair with all of the threads. The amount of imput and collaboration on this site is a bit overwheming, but once you get the hang of it, it's not so imtimidating. As posted above, get familiar with all of the coupons available to you. To get the best deals with these coupons, there are some pretty amazing people on this site that highlight each week for us all the best deals (including free items) to get with your coupons once the sales start. Go to the "Deals" thread, under that you will see a thread titled "Coupons to use this week" OR "Hot flyer deals of the week". You'd be amazed
