James Foley. US jounalist beheaded by IS militants..

American journalist James Foley, who has been murdered by the Islamic State militant group, has been described as a "brave and tireless journalist".
A video released on Tuesday shows his beheading.
He was abducted in Syria in November 2012, while reporting on the civil war for Agence France-Press (AFP) and US media company GlobalPost.
On his way through northern Syria, in Idlib province, his vehicle was stopped by militants. He was never seen again.


It is estimated that about 20 journalists are missing in Syria, according to the US Committee to Protect Journalists.

Richard Attenborough dies aged 90

Oscar-winning British film director Richard Attenborough has died at the age of 90, his son has said. Lord Attenborough was one of Britain's leading actors, before becoming a highly successful director.
In a career that spanned six decades, he appeared in films including Brighton Rock, World War Two prisoner of war thriller The Great Escape and later in dinosaur blockbuster Jurassic Park.
As a director he was perhaps best known for Gandhi, which won him two Oscars.

Don't like insult humour like her and Rickles but she went beyond that and came back from bankruptcy and her husbands suicide and gained a whole new fan base with Fashion Police. She was crazy like a fox.

RIP Joan. I agree about the doc Ciel mentioned, I saw it recently and it is very good. Shows how very hard she worked, which some half her age would have trouble keeping up with.

Her kind of humour conflicted me, but part of me could not resist it because it often said what others were thinking, but she would say it aloud.

I remember us watching Fashion police one time because there was nothing else on, and being both horrified and delighted by things coming out of her mouth! My husband, son, and me watched it weekly... Not that we are into fashion, but she was the entertainment!

I remember her guesting on Carson, she would have been the next Tonight Show host had he not been so peeved she got her own talk show.

My heart is with her only daughter and grandson, they were so very close I hope Melissa is able to deal with this...

Oh I had not heard this news about Joan Rivers, aw so sad for Melissa. Still I admired her strength, even if I cringed at most things coming out of her mouth. Her comedic " heir " Kathy Griffin will undoubtedly be heartbroken over this news.
