I take 75 mg Burpropion in the mornings. I started a really bad cold yesterday, and I'm now wondering if I can take cold medicine, maybe some buckleys ?
I took my medication 12 hours ago, if that counts. I'm also sensitive to medication. I can't find anything online, and the pharmacy is closed, anyone taking this medication that tried cough syrup? This thread is currently associated with: N/APreviously CanadianBella... I'm baaack!

I think it's okay, the only thing I know of not to mix are anti-depressants and prescription pain killers. Actually when I was on Oxycodone, one of the very first things it said specifically not to mix it with was Trazodone (which I was on at the time). Yay, three weeks of no sleeping.

I'd sure check - no pharmacies in your city open 24 hours?

I chickened out and didn't take anything last night. I'm debating going to the clinic today.

Call a pharmacy just in case. Anti-depressants are crazy for interactions and side effects. Better to be safe than sorry

Hi CanadianBella,
I liked the answer provided about Telehealth Ontario.
In another post, you said that you are in Orleans, but your doctor is in Kanata. Wonder if they will acccept you as a patient at the Orleans Family Health Team.

That way you won't be treated poorly at the urgent care clinic (separate post), and may decrease your wait time.
You scared me when you posted that you were going to try a small amount. Glad you didn't follow through. Would hate to hear that you were in the hospital due to a negative drug interaction.
I hope this helps,
Shwa Girl.

In case this happens again, just check the store locater sections on the SDM or Pharma Plus websites for their hours. There are several 24 hour pharmacies in the Ottawa area. You just need to talk to a pharmacist. It doesn't have to be the one that you normally go to. But Telehealth probably could have answered your question too. You should also ask for a printout of what medications cannot be combined with yours next time to refill your prescription.
