Thread: Learning a different language
-

Has anyone tried to learn a different language from a book/cd or online? Thinking about travelling to France next year on an escorted bus tour and thought it would be a good idea to understand and speak some French....at least enough to be able to order from a menu and maybe ask for directions. Looking for book suggestions or if anyone knows of a good online site that is free.

I've heard that Rosetta Stone can be a good program, if you have the time to invest.
There are alo some great free apps available or a limited time (they usually cost $10-$15).

French is an option! However, when I was in Paris despite trying to speak French everyone would revert to English when they realized French wasn't my first language....
