Woman's head found in Canada Park

Police in Canada are investigating the discovery of a severed female head in a river near Toronto.
It comes a day after hikers nearby found a severed human foot whose toe nails were painted in yellow polish.
Police recovered the head on Thursday in the Credit river at a park in Mississauga, Ontario.
They suspect the body parts come from the same person, although that has yet to be confirmed.

2 Hands found in Mississauga river search

Police west of Toronto say they have found two severed hands in their search for body parts in a Mississauga river where a head and a foot had previously been discovered.
"The likelihood of it being the same person is, common-sense wise, probably pretty high," said Sgt. Pete Brandwood of Peel Regional Police, the force responsible for the area that includes Mississauga.
He said during a mid-afternoon news conference that one hand was found near the foot but downstream on the Credit River, while the other hand was a considerable distance downstream, though he couldn't say specifically how far. Both hands, a left and a right, were found early Friday afternoon.
Police also made a third discovery during the afternoon, but the coroner later determined it was animal remains.

Body Parts investigation closer to identifying victim

Five days after a human foot was found in a park west of Toronto, investigators believe they are close to identifying the victim.
On Monday, police said they believe the body parts found in Mississauga’s Hewick Meadows Park likely are related to other remains found in east Toronto over the weekend.
"We have a female victim who unfortunately we’ve been able to find portions of her body in two jurisdictions," Peel Regional Police Sgt. Pete Brandwood told reporters on Monday.
In Mississauga, which is part of Peel Region, police have recovered a right foot, a severed head and two hands during a multi-day search in Hewick Meadows Park.
Meanwhile, Toronto police have recovered an arm and two calves after they were alerted to the discovery of remains in West Highland Creek on back-to-back days on the weekend.

Toronto-area police say a number of recently discovered body parts come from a lone victim, a mother of three reported missing earlier this month.
Guang Hua Liu, 41, was last seen by friends in the area of a spa she ran in Scarborough.
Inspector George Koekkoek, of Peel Regional Police, which is leading the investigation, said that they had not determined a cause of death but were treating her death as a homicide.
