    I'm in need to buy a laptop, now there is a Gateway notebook but never saw this name before, any one has experience with that. As don't want to waste my money. Especially with a non returnable product.
    Need a cheap but still reliable phone plan. Try Public Mobile. Plans starting from $15 ($13 with auto payment).
    Use code R8NLM8 or link when activate with Public Mobile and we both will get $10 bonus.
    Win some extra cash or gift cards. Try Swagbucks... ww.swagbucks.com/refer/uanoor

Therefore, retailers will deduct the value of the coupon from the selling price prior to calculating any GST payable.
    These coupons may:

    • offer a certain percentage off the price of an item (for example, a coupon to receive 10% off the next purchase);
    • offer an item for no charge if another item is purchased (for example, two-for-one coupons);
    • contain more than one monetary discount (for example, 50 cents off a 250 ml bottle of pop, or $1 off a 500 ml bottle of pop); and
    • be used for goods and services that are taxable, as well as zero-rated or exempt.

    .. because actually it says the opposite -- that GST should be charged. FPCs don't state a specific amount.

    Don't get me wrong. I agree taxes are not to be charged on FPCs, but I have yet to see any legal document that makes this clear. I just know it's supposed to be that way here in Quebec because I have had supervisors in a couple of stores I shop at say taxes are included in FPCs unless it's stated that the consumer pays the taxes. Again, that's here in Quebec. I carry around a copy of the provincial equivalent of what the CRA site says, but it has the same ambiguity that make it subject to interpretation. So I only use my FPCs where I know I won't be charged taxes.

    If anyone has a definitive legal source, I would love a link to it

    Silk

    The wording states that the amount of the coupon is to be applied before GST is calculated for items that are not for a specific monetary discount(ie FPC). This means the cost of the item is zero, and that the GST would be charge on zero dollars, therefore, zero GST.

    This is the legal source, it is GST/HST Technical Information Bulletin B-002 which references the HST legislation. The full HST legislation, if printed or seen in full, would include all Technical Bulletins, including B-002. I don't think we can get more legal than that....

    Can you use the 2000bp coupon AND the $1.00 off royale coupons at the same time. The bonus points coupon reads like it won't work that way.

    Wow $3.88 for Royale Ultra - it's $5.88 in Alberta.

    I was going to buy some but it goes on sale for $4.99 quite often so I won't pay more than that.

    Campbell's soup - $.69
    Ritz Crackers - $1.88
    Royale Ultra - $3.88
    Lined Paper (150 sheets) 3/.99
    Kashi Cereal $3.99
    Nestle Chocolate Fun Packs $4.99
    Milk - $4.49
    Dempsters Bread - $1.99
    Snack Pack Pudding - $2.99
    Goldenseal Tuna (170g) - $.99
    Canned Peaches (398ml) - $.99

    I haven't figured out yet how to arrange the amount that I will be buying, but these are all things that I need for back to school and haven't seen them for a better price elsewhere, so I might as well get my points for them.

    I think it's criminal how expensive diabetic supplies are. IMO they should be covered by provincial health care programs.

    Where did you get the prices (flyer??)

    I will be buying insulin and test strips (about $1200 worth) as well as several items I am getting short on (and hoping for a decent flyer/sale) - dishwasher soap and detergent, Downy in wash booster (have coupon); toothbrush heads, mouthwash, allergy pills, Norton anti-virus program, Lysol hands free soap refill, Macleans guide to universities magazine; kleenex, water.

    Whoops I guess you were referring to the "kleenex" not the toliet paper. My bad.
