    DH666, thanks for the links. I have been drinking Green Tea but I hear White tea is the best. I think I need to play around with some different teas though
    Look at this then.

    <removed>

    There are flaws in the advice that being vegan and taking cinnamon will benefit TaraF's medical condition. They need to be corrected by adding pertinent information. I'm trying to clear up the contradiction that sugars need to be controlled via supplements if someone is no longer diabetic because of changes in their diet.

    It amazes me how many reports come from these diet threads. NO THREAD is just about the OP, they are discussions. If you can't discuss politely and look at both sides of an argument when it comes to diets, please refrain from posting in these threads.

    As I tell everyone, don't believe me, do the research, find out who funds studies and why.
    True enough. But even reputable organizations push out studies based on bad science. Just look at the China Study that's often used as a basis for changing one's diet by reducing meat and fat. Other scientists looking at the same data are coming to the conclusion Dr. Campbell picked and chose data to corroborate his theory and ignored the data that went against. A good scientist has a theory and tries everything to prove it wrong.

    Then you have Harvard's Dr. Willett who found that the amount of red meat people ate was linked to a rise in risk of premature death. Ask doctors and nutritionists, and you'll find out that other factors might be at play along with eating red meat to early death. Detractors of the study will point out that no other possible links were researched via the survey that might contribute to premature death like smoking, sedentary lifestyle, or other poor nutritional choices. So in a way, it was irresponsible for Dr. Willett to say such a statement without qualifying it.

    Look up information to see if it's true that salt contributed to high level of cholesterols, and it's another area where studies are inconclusive, yet, one bad scientist 40 years ago made that statement, and it's been treated as gospel every since.

    One of the universities in Montreal last year published the results of when they tried to re-create the study that proved that eating 5 or 6 meals a day were better than the conventional three. There weren't able to because results were the same regardless of how many times participants ate in a day.

    And these are just off the top of my head. We can do our research, but it's very difficult to weed out what's good science versus bad. A better barometer is to try an approach and see how it makes you feel, but we've been hard-wired to ignore our basic instincts and believe what doctors are telling us.

    Enough with the personal attacks, please
    You can question a belief without attacking the person making it

    Well FP, I'm just no fond of personal attacks. If I choose not to discuss my posts with someone else, it's my business. Just because you are a mod, it doesn't mean you can make me reply to others.

    The only diet threads consistently attacked are threads discussing vegetarian or vegan diets. There are plenty of ongoing threads that never have people attacking them. Look at the weight watchers thread.

    Sorry but there are haters that sit on the sidelines and just hit the report button on these threads. Proof is in how may have had to be deleted.

    You know as people on this site are fond of saying if you don't like something move along or start your own thread and discuss what you believe in there's nothing stopping you and believe me we won't be going over to your thread and highjacking it as this one has been.

    The threads Patty was reffering to were two that I started and got really ugly. I finally had to delete them because of the constant attacks. Maybe I should start a thread on Atheism.

    I am aware of the threads, I was pointing out that the thread she thinks doesn't have drama is also moderated because of similar posts
