I am feeling SO good today about my walking progress! I bet I'll be independent (with a cane) again next week and be able to drive a few blocks to the shopping area with HomeSense, Michaels, Marshals, Winners and of course, PetSmart...!!!

Thank you, Hicks...it feels pretty good for a change, too. I'm so much more positive now that I'll walk normally one day. Such a long haul from such a short fall. :-~ Enjoy making your little pies! :)

hicks, another alternative is to make tarts - easy to freeze and thaw.

That is a test for sure, I'll bet Milan will just gush about getting his very own homemade pie! @22hicks , aw Jake is a clever guy with his wake up tactics, so cute.
Today was a bit of this and that. A short trip to the dump, they have a side area depot where I dropped off 2 old 'puter boxes, then hit WM for my Cliff Bars, took DD to class, later will drop her to work. Made up a large pot of chili, used some black turtle beans and black eyed peas that I had soaked overnight, along with some canned kidneys. Also dumped in a whole jar of these roasted red peppers that I got from RCSS @ 30% off ( they pack them whole, so I diced them up some ) as well as a whole bottle of Passata. ( Hope they all think I used enough chili powder, sometimes it is a gamble how many shakes from the bottle I should give it )

Yup, back in a heat wave - but at least things can be better in here because I can escape to the kitchen where the a/c is!

WOB - the chili powder amount is always variable for me, too! I try to aim for medium because then I can just find it a little spicy - but the men can handle a lot spicier, so I always give them the option of adding hot sauce or salsa.
However, there are plenty of times when I out-spice myself and make it too much for me to handle, lol!

Good morning!!
I've already been outside....because Jenny was just about to step outside by the side door when she turned and saw the guys working on our front entrance, jumped, and I swear, she turned around in mid-air and ran back into the house! Lol......yes, not an adventurous bone in her body. So I had to go into the back yard with her.
Naturally, that's when our DD phoned (as usual on Thursday mornings on her way to one of her banks). I heard it, and thought, of course that's when someone would call! Then I remembered it was Thursday, so
I called her cell, and as it was ringing, she walked into the house to check up on me! It's such a comfort knowing does that...So we chatted for a second, then she got back into her van and called me, and we chatted through her half-hour drive...:)

Anyhoodles, I hope everyone has a sunny day today; I can't believe July is almost over!!
