I was so excited the Jays won. :excited:
Then, took the dog out back, and guess who took on a skunk, and lost.
Attachment 295025 Good morning everyone.
I want to wish each of you, and your families, a very Happy Thanksgiving.

I took Jake out back about 11:30 last night, just before we were going to bed.
Guess who found a skunk in the garden, & decided he didn't belong. Guess who won that confrontation. :(
OMG - what a nightmare :exclaim::exclaim::exclaim:
I've had to wash all the carpets, bed linens, towels, floors.
Jake's had 3 shampoos (tooth paste, tomato juice, and his regular shampoo). He, and the house, still stink.
A neighbour has given me a skunk 'get the door out' bottle to try. That's next. :frown::frown::frown:
He got sprayed right in the face, his eyes were so red and swollen, but thankfully I still had drops and lubricant left over from his pink eye. That seemed to help.
I'm exhausted, but I don't feel like I've accomplished a thing.
^ Ooo, poor Jake, and poor you!
We went to vote at 3, and just as I was marking my ballot, a guy came in and announced the Blue Jays score - and it got everyone talking in the gym - it was so cute! There weren't many people there, we were just lucky to get in at a non-busy time.

Good morning folks.
Hope everyone has recovered from their Turkey comas, if not, no biggie, it's a short week, so the weekend will be her soon enough, and you can go back to veggin' on the couch!

Morning everyone! Hope you all had a great long weekend! Wishing you all a great short week!
Hicks, so sorry to hear about that dreadful encounter with a skunk
for both Jake and you. I've learned the hard way to make sure all
our evening and last call outings are on a short leash in the front
where there is light from the street lamps.
Encounters with other dogs, rabbits and worst of all, a coyote,
have made that necessary.
Really hope that smell will fade soon.
A cup of hydrogen peroxide, a tablespoon each of baking soda and shampoo, makes a magic solution that kills skunk odour on contact. It works on bedding too. (I had a dog detonate a skunk and then run back inside into my bed...what a disaster...I was still in the bed too.)
