Thank you all for your positive vibes and well wishes.
It was a VERY long day yesterday, but bottom line, all went well, actually, better than just well.
I was @ the hospital for almost 8 hours.
- they x-rayed, removed the cast, waited to see the surgeon, he wanted a 2nd opinion, so waited to see another; @ that point, I was sure they were going to operate.
- saw the 2nd surgeon, and he ordered an M.R.I.
- finally, the conscious was - NO SURGERY :excited::excited::excited::excited::excited:
- next, to make things even better, they both were in the room, and agreed that I could have a air cast / boot; I can start to weight-bear, no more than 5 - 10%
- finally, I waited for the physio; she went through a number of exercises; they gave me a requisition to start physio
- follow up appt. in 6 weeks, by which time I should be @ the point I can be 100% weight-bearing, but only with the boot on for support
- they put the boot on, waited for my ride & got home about 5:30
I called the dog sitter to bring Jake home, call a friend to tell her about my day, and she picked up some dinner, so we ate & visited till about 8:30.
Believe it or not, I laid down to rest just before 9, and didn't wake up till 8:30 this morning.
Anyhow, I thought I'd catch you up, and thank you again.

That is so great Hicks.
:) :) :) :)
22Hicks, that's the best news you could have hoped for! Thank heavens you don't need surgery! You're going to be right back to normal in the spring!! I'm so relieved and happy for you!
As for us, our DD and her Hubby will be on their way to TO for the boat show tomorrow night, right after her 10am client meeting. With the news this morning re our economy, it looks like she'll have more than a few panicky calls from clients when she gets back. They're taking her assistant in TO out for lunch, then the Friday boat show. Which means that we have our Grandson for the weekend, although with his skating after school today, swimming tomorrow, I won't really have time with him until Saturday, lol! He loves to cook, so I have to think of a dinner recipe that he and I can make together that's safe to eat on our diet. Yes, life in the fast retired lane!
Have a great day, everyone! Mild temps here, snow melting, ahhhh life is good! :)
Merry Little Christmas, Natalka!
Nat, sounds like you had a great Little Christmas. :)
Lynn, thanks; it was MUCH better news than I ever imagined. :) Enjoy your time with your Grandson.
Great news, Hicks! Long, tiring day for you, but you got great results.
Wonderful that you've got some mobility back...six weeks will pass fast.
I saw my orthopaedic surgeon today too. It's been ten weeks since my
knee surgery, and after several x-rays, he discharged me. Feel great, all
the previous pain is gone.
Going out tonight for a fun evening with my daughter. She's taking me to
the ACC to see a Cirque du Soleil show. Should be fabulous!
hicks, I'm so very glad it went well for you - but wowsers, what a very long day you had there!
Wishing you steady and sustained healing! :flowers:
Well, it's beautiful and white outside - it's been really nice to get more snow.
Even though it's Christmas Day, not doing Ukr. food today - we've had enough, lol! Bonus for me is that husband will bring home supper after work.
We don't do gifts for this day, but I thought this was cute to see come up on FB

Enjoy the afternoon, everyone!
Margy, how absolutely wonderful for you!!
My gosh, there's been SO much good news on here today!!! :)
My wonderful news is that it's +1 today, going up to +2 on Saturday, AND our Grandson skated so well today, and we watched a little of a hockey game!!
Yucky news is there's something wrong with my eye, it's tearing (has been for weeks) but now it hurts to touch the inside part near my nose...I'm using pink-eye prescription stuff, but if it's not gone by Monday or at least improved, I'll call our doc back as he suggested I do.
Sweet dreams, everyone!!
@Lynn49 - sorry about your eye. I hope it doesn't get any worse, but you'd better get it checked soon.
