Not on the Canadian site, but today's Google doodle in Ukraine - Ukrainian poet Lesya Ukrainka's 145th birthday. She is known for beautiful poems, stories, and plays about other-worldly forest creatures and nymphs.

Guest artist Nata Metlukh, a Ukrainian illustrator and animator living and working in San Francisco, chose to depict a scene from Ukrainka's play Лісова пісня, or "The Forest Song" which she published in 1912, a year before her death.

Good morning, everyone....the winds howled all night and they're still going strong. I haven't had the courage to look outside, yet, but Hubby did say the snow started last night.....February's last grasp at keeping us in winter. Not sure if we're venturing out today to painting class..it's mighty treacherous out there.

I peeked outside: no extra snow to speak of but, oh-boy, did it ever blow the stuff around! The snow bank along one side of our driveway has made its way right across it to about as high as our van's front lights...poor hubby will be hauling out the snowblower to get us out today.

How did everyone else fare? Snow? Freezing rain? Apparently lots of people have lost power in Quebec.....

Stay safe out there, walking or driving!

Yesterday we got it all, snow, freezing rain, rain, and more rain. Nothing's happening here, so far this morning, everything's just wet. It's cloudy and windy, and they're calling for more wet stuff.
