cab, thats really nice that they give little perks like that. i know it can make employees a bit happier. i was in line last friday at a subway and there was a guy there with a list talking to this other woman saying that he buys his crew lunch every friday. wish when i was working my boss had done stuff like that!

Just got some extended family news that isn't wonderful; and I know it sounds odd, but I'm glad it's not worse.
My oldest sister's husband had a stroke in the early summer - it was serious, but with therapy, he had been doing quite well, considering everything, even got a lot of his memory back. He's in his mid-60s.
Just found out that Thursday he had a grand mal seizure, caused by the scar tissue from the stroke. My sister had called the ambulance thinking his odd behaviour was maybe indicating another stroke, but he had the seizure in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
He's at home now - memory gone, hopefully just for now...
They are far away from them, so I can't see them just now, but it's just a reminder how things can change in a flash.
Hug everyone you love!

Just got home from taking DD to see The Rise of the Guardians. Cute movie! She really enjoyed it. Some scary parts though, just an FYI for young kids.
I also got DH a great Christmas present today. A Mastercraft Hammer Drill! He originally said he wanted a Makita (I think that's the spelling) or another brand but they're super expensive. I've been watching a set on Amazon.ca but it's $300. So, when I saw the Mastercraft one for 65% off, I asked him and he said it's good too (not as good but they have a lifetime warranty if it breaks).
So, out I went this morning. Snatched one for $44 - $20 in CT $ so less than $30 OOP for a new Hammer Drill with attachments (reg. $120ish). YAY!
Now I can use my amazon.ca codes for something else. Maybe the poker table I've been looking at if it goes back on sale!

Need to stretch all my promo $$$ since SDM is disappointing this year.
$210 is better than $170 but when you add all the redemptions DH & I have (3.5) we'll be down $140. That's a lot of diapers! lol. Guess I wont be buying a new camera, especially if they aren't standing by their electronics anymore (like some posters have said).

I did manage to get lots of soap at BBW last night though! And 2 free bubble baths!
