Soup.... I justy remembered that I have a stash of some realy good soup in the freezer from the turkey I made in November. Turkey will work right....a bird is a bird.....
Yes, the heat here is a very different type than that of Florida. It's not as humid (although still situated on the gulf) nor cloudy here. Even with being sick, I'll lounge outside here at our site. No pool or finding the Anytime Gym here, but hopefully I can do that sometime before the week is out. I'm assuming this will go away real quickly, there's no time to be sick
Hope you're staying warm Nat.We all need a little sunshine every now and then

I am so tired ...with my constant daily headache, this is not helping!!

I don't know what it's like in ON, but here if it's emergent, your family doc should be able to get you a referral quite quickly.
Another option - not a great one, but if needed it's worth doing - is going to the ER, and they can get an ENT who is on-call to come in to see you.

Good morning!
Abby....enough is enough. Get yourself to emerg and tell them that you've had a sore throat for a month now, no meds have helped, can't get into your family doc yet, and you're D-O-N-E! They'll get an EMT to look down there and get to the bottom of it.....Lordy, Hon....you poor kid.
Holly, glad you got there and settled in, but sorry for that sore throat....hopefully it's just a little 24-hr bug. Enjoy Texas! I told hubby about your move, since we're always talked about going there, but end up in Florida for March. One day we'll actually make that choice!
Laetecia...would you share your recipe with me? I came across one in a magazine recently and they looked so pretty, but if you have a tried and true recipe, I sure would appreciate it...
So....grandson up-chucked this morning, so hubby's gone thre to start the babysitting process today...sigh...and I had other plans today, one of which involved dipping those big pretzel sticks in Merken's chocolate, then crushed scor bars. And some in crushed candy-canes...at this rate I'll never get to them.....
Everyone.....have a lovely day!!Last edited by Lynn49; Wed, Dec 19th, 2012 at 08:18 AM.

You should definately ask your Dr. to get you an appointment ASAP. Have they done x-rays s for and blood work Abby? I(t's not your average flu/cold, that's for sure. I've been hearing here on the news about getting your N1H1 shots. They're saying that flu season has started way to early and that it's going to be a bad season
I floored though that the pharmacists here can give you a Tamiflu shot, all you have to do is make an appointment. It just makes me wonder, they made that to combat N1H1, but they're hading it out like candy. Sooo, if you happen to get some sort of virus, and your body is already immune to that antibiotic, then what.
I'm not one for meds, probably because I HAVE TO take so many, but it's crazy to create a vaccine for a stuborn hard to cure flu, then hand it out to anybody that feels fluish and can pay the $15
But in your case Abby, something different is going on hon, I'm concerned about you.We all need a little sunshine every now and then

Thanks ,Holly...our SIL really git a great Chrustmas gift early!
i don't know how sick the little guy is....he has a cold (one if the lovely things aboutJK...they all just keep passing it around!), and when he coughs, he throws up. I told hubby to ask our DD that if it was a single incident, and is fine this morning, might he go back to school this afternoon....naturally if he really has the flu, he's home for the count......

ENT's are usually quite backed up in my area and I'm sure it'll be worse right now considering they will be closed over the holidays. I would recommend an ER visit if you need immediate attention. If you are in need of a ENT, they will get the on call doctor to come and see you right away. At least then you should have some answers.
ENT's are specialists and know much more than a regular doctor. My doctor thought I had strep throat and the ENT knew right away it wasn't. He admitted me on the spot and did an emergency surgery.
No sense being in pain if you dont have to be. Also if you do have an infection and it gets into your bloodstream it could be life threatening...

In this area that super flu is getting pretty bad (H1N2 is it???).
FIL, his girlfriend and her mom (about 90years old) were all soooo sick for almost 2 weeks. They ended up being on "lock down" and not letting visitors in or go to work because the doctor told them they were highly infectious.
Even our one hospital has been fighting constant outbreaks (not sure what they call it, but it's mostly a hospital for rehab and long term care so a lot of older patients).
